If the Masq folks think there might be an, umm, 'cultural conflict' between upstairs and downstairs, they'll time things apporpriately so the crowds don't mix. They did that at a show there within the last year, per Tim H., but I forget if the upstairs or downstairs show was delayed.Nyarlathotep wrote:I was mostly joking. I don't think anything that serious has ever gone down inside the Masquerade. Outside is a different matter, but that is just like anywhere else. I'm not trying to stir anything up.

very true. I saw Outkast once in like 02 or 03 and about 3/4 of the people there were white.Spewtilator wrote:this is trueBrian wrote:I don't get why it matters, Bone THugns is just gonna be filled with college frat boys and hipsters. black people don't go to rap shows...that's why they never sell well. i saw an interesting arcicle.
come to think of it, I watched part of Bone Thugs performance at Music Midtown ages ago. They were pretty good from what I remember.

Ditto on the parking. I'm not the biggest HoF fan (don't get me wrong, I do like them, they just don't fall into my list of favs) but I went cause my b/f loves them and he needs to get out of the house! Haha but I had a good time though. We caught the last of Black Cobra. They're pretty good for just only 2 dudes playing. Preistess was very good musically but I just cannot get into the vocals at all...they're to high pitched for that kind if music. Their drummer sang for one of their songs and he has a much deeper voice which was very fitting for the music. He really should sing for the rest of their songs lol. HoF were good too...I was surprised they played Devolution towards the beginning.
Oh, and the crowd was an interesting mix...I mean the HoF crowd and Bone Thugs crowd. It was a good time though.
I talked with Nyarlotep for a bit. I saw Ryan (screambloodygore) and Matt there. Good times! \m/

Hell yeah! It was good chatting with you. Funnily enough, my wife and our friend Scarlet said the exact same thing about Priestess. HoF was great, but Black Cobra was the highlight of the night for me. Bison BC sounded great too, but almost nobody was there to see them.
