Working on getting a room downtown as I type this. If it doesn't work out, I'm getting lit the fuck up early Sunday and cabbing with mt bro Bor Mahrap to the show.
If we manage to actually get there early-ish, I plan on infiltrating your home, Brian.
Knuck, we need to hold a "gentleman's conference" at some pt Sun.

My bro and I may begin our long downward spiral into knuckle-dragging drunkeness at 97 Estoria and then cab it from there. I doubt there's a decent place to drink downtown. At least there wasn't when I was at GSU.

I'm down.Knucklehead wrote:If (1) I can get away early and (B) that's an actual invite to your place, I'm in, hoss. I'll even show up with some Guinness. Maybe.Brian wrote:I'm down.Knucklehead wrote:So, I don't know exactly when I'll be able to get away, because arrangments (i.e. negotations with the wife) are still being made to cover baby-sitting and such.
But does anyone want to get together for a beer, beforehand?
I plan on having many beers given that my humble abode is a mere 10 minute walk from the Tabernacle.
And if not so much (B), then I just won't show up with the Guinness.I'll buy you one out, instead.

And it was. I kept thinking during the show, "Holy shit... this is really happening...."egg yolkeo wrote:this is gonna be epic
I liked Dave's comment, "And that.... was Rust In Peace."
I saw them like 10 years ago at the Roxy with Iced Earth, but I don't remember shit from their set! Last night though is a different story. Fucking amazing.
And damnit, I want to hear Trial By Fire next time.

PISSED!!
I thougth we got there on time, but it turns out that we were late. We completely missed Exodus which is the band that I really wanted to see.
I think we came in just as Testament was finishing "Over the Wall." We were standing way in the back and the sound was kinda crappy. But those guys put on a good show. Who was playing guitar with them.
We changed spots for Megadeth and ended up right in the middle of the floor. Ran into Brian and got to chat with him for a minute, which was cool. He disappeared into the pit during the second bar of "Holy Wars ..." and I never did see him emerge. Man, that has always been a powerful song.
What is with Mustaine and the whole NWOBHM look? That was weird to me. Anyway, I'll reserve comment on the rest and only say that I really wish that they would have played "Hook In Mouth" or "Wake Up Dead" or the "The Conjuring."

There were three wee ones standing right in front of me -- must have been 15 or 16, having a ball. (Without shirts. What's up with that?!) God bless them.Voegtlin wrote:Tons of little kids "moshing."

Fuckin' A right. My buddy kept on saying, "don't they have a song 'Baptism By Fire'?" I could only smile.ratanda wrote:And damnit, I want to hear Trial By Fire next time.
What a show.
Showed up halfway through Exodus's set, but they were pretty good. Watched the first few songs of Testament but when I realized that I couldn't get a good spot after coming over the rail from crowdsurfing I just went to drink with Matt.
Megadeth was pretty much flawless.
I'm suffering this morning but it was totally worth it.
