I remember in the early 00's, when Sam and Jonathan were hosting, every WREKage would start with Thorr's Hammer's "Norge." I kind of miss that. I do not, however, miss the four hours of Anal Blast songs that would follow.
(Okay, it wasn't that bad, but those two did love them some brutal death.)
I miss Flame Princess Jim, too. His constant evangelizing of Opeth and Devin Townsend eventually got me into those two, and now they're two of my favorites.

I'm not so much into that style personally... some of its ok imo but most just doesnt float my boat.GameFreac wrote:ThanksSpewtilator wrote: as far as hardcore what style are you trying to get into?

If you like faster stuff i'd highly, HIGHLY, rec Bukkake Boys. They just started playing around here again and are ridiculously good live. they've got a couple 7"s floating around. Also, Hummingbird of Death are great. A bit more on the fastcore/powerviolence side but top notch. Other great old school starting points would be Bad Brains s/t album, Cro Mags "Age of Quarrel", Gang Green "Another Wasted Night", and DRI "Dealing With It"
SPEWTILATOR - Badass motherfuckin' street cops with nothing to lose who don't play by the rules and are out for blood.

SCORPIONS, Sting In the Tail
MEDIEVAL STEEL, Dungeon Tapes
HELLISH CROSSFIRE, Bloodlust Scythe
NAZARETH, Loud N Proud
NAZARETH, Rampant
DEATH ANGEL, The Ultra-Violence
MANILLA ROAD, Mark of the Beast
ALSO: I'll second Spew's OSchool starting points, especially Bad Brains and Cro-Mags.

Yep....it was an online discussion on Jim Raggi's LotFP (see below) about their unrelenting playlist brutalityDeathfareDevil wrote:I remember in the early 00's, when Sam and Jonathan were hosting, every WREKage would start with Thorr's Hammer's "Norge." Yep, it worked with me, too. Damn him!I miss Flame Princess Jim, too. His constant evangelizing of Opeth and Devin Townsend eventually got me into those two, and now they're two of my favorites.

--Nahh, I'm cool with it. Love both of those artists. Thankee, Jim, over there in Finlandia.....
I love it. Best Scorps rec since Blackout, and it's firmly entrenched in their 80s vibe. Can't stop listening to it.Diana wrote:What do you think?VOEGTLIN wrote:SCORPIONS, Sting In the Tail
Update: "Hit Between the Eyes" has been in my head for roughly 67 hours.
