Man shot to death outside Atlanta club

A Sunday night shooting outside a popular northeast Atlanta nightclub and concert venue left one man dead and another in custody.

The shooting happened about 11 p.m. outside the Masquerade on North Avenue.

"It appears the victim and the suspect in the case were involved in a verbal altercation over a vehicle blocking the street," Atlanta police Major Keith Meadows told WSB Radio.

An off-duty Atlanta police officer working security at the club took the suspect into custody.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as Matthew Cole, 26, of Sautee Nacoochee, a small community in White County.

The suspect's name has not been released.

The reggae act Major Lazer performed at the club Sunday night.

Damn.

I hate thug motherfuckers, shooting anyone they want for stupid fucking reasons. Another kid was killed on Marta a few weeks ago over a cell phone. Atlanta is getting to be like the wild west, shoot them or be shot. Murder all thugs!!!

People get so worked up over the lamest things. When I lived in Louisiana I heard a story about someone killing someone else by beating him in the head with a lead pipe. All because he thought that the guy behind him was following him, when he was just trying to go home to his wife.
