Mine is on its way. I've been listening to "Beyond the Apocalypse" for two weeks on constant rotation in an unhealthy fashion, so it needs to hurry. You like it? What's the verdict?

I met Jerry Only at Dragon*Con probably ten years ago. He is so nice and so positive and so ripped that I want him to be my life coach.

And he still dons the devil lock, right? Very nuts.

I'm not at all interested in new Misfits. But I have lots of respect for what Jerry did back in the day.

Ha! Aaaaanyway, my entry point was also Legacy of Brutality, back in the late '80's, probably. I dated a girl that was crazy about them, god bless her. Another friend actually owned a few original Plan 9 singles and I taped them from him. I wish I had *those* sons of bitches, now.

Anyway, to round it out:

The Misfits -- Walk Among Us.

I guess I should probably pick up a Misfits patch...

I like it. It’s a slower album that I expected. It’s better than Revelations of the Black, but it’s really not that much different from it. The production is pretty similar and as you’ve probably guessed by the song titles, it also has the same ambient interludes between songs – not a down point for me. It’s great music to work to. I’ve been listening to it for hours at work everyday since I got it. Downside – the drums are too muted. Let me know what you think about it when you get it.

"Beyond the Apocalypse" IS kick ass.

Proud of that one !

Earth A.D. is my fave. But the Static Age sessions stuff is other-worldly, Inland Empire house-band jive. Walk Among Us = MONSTER Magazine come to life.

TOTALLY. Devil lock, armbands, tight pants, smudgy eye paint, chest oil, the whole bit. And so charismatic that I may have accidentally bought a time share from him.

Yeah, I was a little concerned about the "interludes," and now I'm concerned about the muted drums. But it's encouraging that you like it, so I'll keep my chin up until it gets here, while continuing to burn a hole in "Apocalypse." Thanks!

Huh. I thought that this was supposed to be a "return to form." Of course, that phrase usually means that the band has lost it, knows they lost it, and is trying to regain what they had. IMHO.

Probably the interludes cause this. The songs I think are brutal as fuck, listen to When I was Flesh. Has a real creep factor also! And Psalm 7:77 rules!!!
