Faith No More

Post by merrymayhem » Tue May 11th, 2010, 4:13 pm

Don't know how many here are fans, they were sort of my gateway to metal :D

Anyway, anyone planning on seeing them this summer? I'm going with a friend, and now my sister in law wants to go. Sort of awkward to go with 3 people, would like to find a 4th. We already have two extra pairs of tickets for the Philly show, but they're not as close as my friend and I plan on sitting ("best available" was NOT the best available, thank you Ticketmaster).

We'll be leaving July 1st and driving back July 4th, shows are July 2 in Brooklyn and July 3 in Philadelphia.

I would love to travel to one of those shows...but I've got my money tied up in MDF travel. Fortunately for me I saw them twice in 92' and 94'.
See you in Hell!

I never saw the big attraction to them. They have a few good songs but I don't get the hype at all!

Well, considering the fact that their label gave them basically no support for their last 3 albums, every bit of hype they had came from their fans. I like them because they're unique and write really cool songs with all kinds of texture to them and that span all kinds of genre boundaries.

Granted, I get that a lot of people don't get the whole "Cult of Mike Patton" thing, but outside of that, every bit of hype they got was very well deserved.

I agree but I'm not about to wait for one, they may not play in the US again, who knows.

There's just some voices I love, Mike Patton and Peter Steele being at the top of my list. I guess it also helps that I was around 13/14 when I first heard FNM and I never got the chance to see them live.

If not for the fact that I just had to have my transmission rebuilt I'd totally take you up on one of those tickets.

I liked them well enough when I first heard them, but I listened to Zombie Eaters during an out of mind experience late one night and that pretty well sealed it.

Thanks.

Talk about a band I've always wanted to see live, but haven't.

...oh well.

I'd love to see FNM, too.

Wayyyy back in the mists of ancient time....that is, in 1989 or thereabouts...two friends and I had a small but significant part in getting FNM on their first big opening tour. This involved a certain destroyed camera of ours, a lot of attitude from a certain frontman whose band got kicked off the tour in question, and FNM replacing said band on that tour, opening for their buds in Metallica. And that's when FNM really got their start.

I still have the pieces of that destroyed camera, too. :)

They've only played the US a handful of times, from what I can tell. And, since we're wishing, I would really only want to see the original lineup.

But, I guess this is a FNM thread...
