edit: the official Dio site was down when I checked a minute ago -- hence my deferral to Eddie Trunk. Obviously the RJD site announcement is official, so ... break out Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules.

First I was told Ronnie died on a saturday night. then on that same night, his wife Wendy Dio says "it's just a rumour, he's fine". But just now today, Wendy says "he's passed away". This sucks, see what rumours can do to you?

One of the biggest legends lost since Chuck Shuldiner, Kevin DuBrow, Paul Baloff, and Quorthon. :(

Well as far as the rumor, Wendy didn't say he was fine, she said he was alive but not doing well.
