Converge - May 28

Show was pretty much a success. Damnesia didn't start until about 8, dragged on for about 30 minutes. Black Breath was fucking insane, they obviously didn't have the crowd like Gaza or Converge did but I think they sounded awesome (Gamefreac disagrees). Liked them so much that I bought a tee, even though the Converge tees were a lot cooler... hmm. Gaza was next, lots of moshing and some crowdsurfing/stage diving for them. I don't really like them on a record much, don't like the sludge/hardcore mix, and I didn't like them much live either. No memorable riffs or anything. The crowd seemed really into them though. Converge was obviously converge, Jacob put on a great live show with all his jumping around and shit like he was on crack or something. Managed to only get kicked in the head about twice. This one dude tried to dive and my bro didn't catch him so he looked like he was about to beat the shit out of him haha. Only qualm about converge live was that I could pretty much only distinguish the songs by the intros (besides Concubine, Dark Horse, Reap What You Sow, Axe to Fall, Wishing Well), haha. Guess I'm not tr00 enough. On the way home got pulled over for the dumbest reason.. not using turn signal while switching lanes, but he was a nice cop and let us go with just a warning. So.. interesting night.
And forgot to mention, met GameFreac and talked for a good 10 seconds. Lol.

Yeah that was way too awkward...I was just like uhhhhhh. Sorry man. Haha.aaron wrote: And forgot to mention, met GameFreac and talked for a good 10 seconds. Lol.

I thought I was going alone till my friend finally answered his phone around 5 pm. Also took his cousin (first concert in 2 years but he had a great time) and this hot girl I met at a party a week ago (she has a boyfriend though).

Damnesia was weird as hell...one of the singers was seriously reading the lyrics off a sheet on the stage.
Black Breath was good but the singer's mic needed to be turned up the entire set...thought they sounded better on album but were still good.
Gaza was like doomy hardcore...it was ok but not that great to me...wasn't really a fan.
Converge ruled. I ran to scream "Dear I'll Stay Gold!" for Concubine and he put the mic right in my face and accidentally punched me in the nose. Great start to the show....haha. But the crowd went crazy. They put on an amazing show and pretty much played the same setlist they've been playing the rest of the tour. Jacob's mic could have been turned up (he kept asking) but otherwise, everything sounded good. They were really fun and I'd definitely see them again.
I also just spent an hour searching for a Jane Doe shirt online but it's sold out everywhere I looked.

Converge was sick last week - maybe one of the more eventful shows I've been to this year.
Managed to shoot this at the show, lemme know what you guys think (Heartache live) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNIZBtp8Bx4
