That IO bit was a fucking joke. I don't expect the bands I listen to to work from some airtight aesthetic system like they're goddamn philosophers. But there's a time when you got to shut the fuck up and let your records do the talking. That goes for way more than Watain.

At the risk of sounding like a hypocrite in light of my presumptions about the new Nachtmystium, I'm sort of let down that the whole album isn't as out there as "No Funeral." This is way more conventional than Black Meddle pt 1.

I do like "Nightfall" and "Ruined Life Continuum," though. Vaguely happy black metal seems to have found a soft spot in me. Well ... I guess this is still black metal. Who the hell knows anymore.
