Nah. And I only half-heartedly follow his myspace blog. But I should be checking all of that stuff out. That Dude's knowledge is obviously encyclopedic.

Of course, if I had a job where I could listen to my iPod all day and not have to interact with people, I'd probably be aware of lot more bands...

you should get one. speaking from experience (and work while listening to Population Reduction) it's pretty great and makes work suck waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less.

But we still listened to it. The reverb on Hell Awaits is absolutely ridiculous. But we still listened to it and loved it. Even Endless Pain left a thing or two be desired. But the heads didn't bang any less.
The aspects you mention uh make records uh mention great, uh no? SLAYER uh became SLAYER with uh very much reverb, uh yes? MEGADETH is uh MEGADETH with uh no to uh little values production on KiMB, uh no?

All very true.

But I have the feeling that people would criticize those albums, if they were released today, because they sound kinda shitty.

My point is, either a riff or a drum fill or a vocal delivery speaks to you or it doesn't. The rest is all just icing or not. No?

I meant to put this before the prior post:

Also: This is something entirely different from production. This is something Hellenes called "ousia." Yes?

SV (or is it Skwisgaar?): Exactly. I guess the thing is that the albums at which the Production Criticism are leveled never sound as bad as KIMB. I dunno, maybe I'm just getting to be a crotchety old fuck, but it comes across as ... spoiled. Snow, uphill both ways, no shoes, etc.

SBG: See -- no fighting. Besides, SV is a delicate flower. ... until he drinks the whiskey, that is. Or so I have heard.

I'm even more delicate after whiskey. I've been known to weep, but only if Ennio Morricone is playing.

Anyway, Watain is apparently going to be touring with Behemoth -- I'm not sure if they're talking about Europe or North America. Nachtmystium won't be touring with Triptykon. At least, that is what a little birdie told me.

And SV -- as soon as I hear that tickets for Watain/Behemoth are on sale, I'll let you know. I mean, that is your dream bill and all, right?

Shirtless dudes in leather skirts = yes, please. See: Gladiator, Legend, and that guy in the Cell. Which is terrible.

Is Behemoth still touring on Evangelion? Because we saw that already.

Edit: Didn't we?

Last time I saw 'em was w/ Morbid Angel and Planet Latex had taken a shit all over the stage. Only thing missing was some gimp in a gasmask and a "DP" scene. No thanks. I drowned my sorrows with $200 Newcastles.
