I'm John, despite my handle. That comes from my subversive use of a stupid P
eTA website where kids can design "sea kittens." What's a sea kitten? A
fish. But if they're called sea kittens, you wouldn't want to eat them, would you?
Lived here just over 19 years, which is a bit less than half my current lifespan.
Have played in bands in the past. My last one was described by the AJC as sounding like "Peter Murphy fronting Iron Maiden." I wouldn't agree, but I thought it was funny. I quit that band around 16 years ago, though.
Been a metalhead, among other things, since 1976, when I saw
Kiss on the
Destroyer tour.
Used to go out a lot, 'til I got my ankle broken for me at the Masquerade. I've slowed down a lot since. Last two shows I attended:
Melvins (at the 40 Watt) and
Floor (at The E.A.R.L.).
Currently rockin' out to the newest
Borbetomagus album. Well, rockin' out as much as is
possible with
Borbetomagus.
No pics of me handy at the moment.
Oh, and I have a music blog:
Lightning Jukebox. Not a lot of metal on it at the moment, but there will be more. Right now, the only metal/hard rock is my fave song off the first
UFO album, a song from the first
Dynamite Master's Blues Quartet (now called
DMBQ) album and a song from a
Circle of Ouroborus tape. OK, that last one is one of their weird, folky ones, rather than a metal one.
