To bands who have released vinyl: we need recommendations.

We're almost done writing a full length and are planning to record in a couple months. We definitely want this on vinyl, which is something most of our older bands have never done before so we don't know the best/cheapest place to work through.

To bands who have released vinyl and liked the way it came out, along with the price, please let us know of some good companies.

Vinyl rules, you should press it on that. It'll be kinda pricey no matter what, but don't let that deter you.

Awesome, thanks. They're prices are really good, my only concern is it says 18 minutes per side and we may have a little more. We're looking at around a 40 minute full length, but i'll email them. Thanks dude

United Record Pressing in Tennessee was always the standard in years past. Cheap, fast, reliable. http://www.urpressing.com/

Nowadays a lot of folks are going through Pirate's Press. They specialize in fancy schmancy packaging. I've seen some beautiful stuff they've put out, but have heard a few words against them. No biggies, could just be haters.

As for how much to press? Fuck if I know. That's a band by band kind of choice. Do you have distro lined up? That will significantly effect what you can move. My guess would be at this point, you'd want to print up enough that you can sell at shows and ship the rest out to other labels and distros to build up buzz and interest. My advice would be to make your packaging as dynamic as possible and send out promo copies to every label/distro you can name. If you get some bites on distroing you can always repress.
