The windmill I was referring to was an old kind of dance that involved throwing the right arm out stiffly and windmilling it while moshing in the circle pit. Variation included what I heard called the Elephant Man (may have only been a colloquial term, never saw it in print) where while the right arm windmilled the left arm was crossed over the face at the elbow rendering the dancer blind. Kept everyone on their toes, ya know.

The picking up change or lawnmower are variation on the floorpunch which were also done while moving, not standing still. All the standing still shit is variations of the NY style kung fu shit. It's kinda dumb, but, at least, people use that shit to show off their stylee. At the Trash Talk set at Scion it looked pretty bad ass to see forty kids doing that kung fu shit all at once. Kinda like a Jazzaerobics class gone bad.

That headbang windmilling looks like it would hurt like a motherfucker the next day. My neck sounds enough like a box of Rice Crispies already. It also loses a bit of the visual impact when done by bald dudes like the singer of Pathology.

Is this the ninja stuff the metalcore/hardcore kids do today in the middle of the floor?

The moves I was talking about were done as part of a mosh, but a lot of them have been co-opted to be part of the whole stationary kung fu hc thing.

3. Young Dudes - Skipping in the pit isn't moshing. It's skipping. Skipping hasn't been cool since you were in first grade and even then it was questionable. Watch some old videos and learn some moves then come school the rest of the suburban yahoos.

Maybe we were stupid hicks, but we used to, back in the day, call that circle pit business moshing and the running into each other business slamming. IANAL.

Don't forget the skank, the creepy crawl, the HB strut, picking up change, the lawn mower, the windmill, etc... I know it makes me sound like cranky ol' Grandma, but the pit used to be a place where people wanted to show off their style, not just skip to the loo.

I used to LOVE Exodus!!! Loved them, but then zetro left & that has killed
it for me ever since!!!
I know I'm from the way, way back in the day old school of thrash & speed Metal, but DAMNIT I miss ZETRO!!!
Pleasures Of The Flesh & Fabulous Disaster were two of my fave
thrash albums from back in the day!!!
So from what it sounds like, I really didn't miss much!
I would've LOVED to have seen Bonded By Blood & Holy Grail though!!!
But as for Sadistic Ritual, I saw y'all @ The Local when y'all played w/
Prime Mover!!!
I KNOW Y'ALL KILLED IT!!!
