Is this the old NWOBHM Satan?doubledogpaleale wrote:Got this thing in a vinyl and really enjoyed michael jackson's vocals, on of the best intro tracks I've heard in a long while.sleyja wrote:Satan - Suspended Sentence
Black Anvil - Triumverate
Can't wait to give this more focused attention. So far it's a big blur of awesomeness.
English Beat - What is Beat?
I never tire of this album, even if I have short tolerance for ska.
Energetic Krusher - Path to Oblivion
Insanely under rated thrashy death.
Dishammer - Vintage Addiction
One of the best albums in years. I would love to play music like this.
Coroner - No More Colors
'Nuff said.
Cold Northern Vengeance - Domination and Servitude
Cold, evil, goodness. Love this band.
Necro Deathmort - This Beat is Necrotronic
It was promised as blackened electronica. Not feeling anything "dancey" about this.
Danzig - s/t
'Nuff said
Christian Mistress - Agony and Opium
Still can't get enough of this band. Can't wait for the show next month!
Fueled by Fire - Spread the Fire
Decent thrash revival that seems to have fallen right off the radar. I still dig this album, but I'm not super choosy about this genre. I'm just happy to have the chance to jam new thrash tracks. Period.
Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini and Vertebrae
The clean vocals always grate just a bit. Still, it's Enslaved.
D.I.S. - Critical Failure
Wish this was catchier
Devil's Blood - Time of Blah, Blah...

Shit, forgot to mention that after catching their set this weekend I was inspired to pull out PanzerBastard's Discography 2006-2009 CD. This is Keith from Cold Northern Vengeance's other band. Fucking BRILLIANT Motorhead/Venom/Hellhammer inspired scumbaggery awesomeness! They are aiming to play down here early next summer. Do yourself a favor and go ahead and get turned on to their badassness now so you'll be super jazzed for them by the time the roll over ATL.

I went to Boston for the weekend for the punk/oi/hardcore Play it Loud II Fest that my buddy put on. As I was walking in the door a friend of mine from NYC was walking out and just looked at me, smiled, and shoved the new Black Anvil into my hands because he knew I was a huge fan of the band so he had brought it to surprise me. That guy is solid gold. I was super stoked as I've been searching for a leak for weeks.
The fest was very well promoted and organized. All DIY (well, the local cheapo beer company did some promotion there, but no mega corporations that thrive on exploiting legitimate underground culture) with many bands both local and touring and it sported two reunion sets by the legendary, The Trouble. It was an awesome good time. The show brought in people from all over the USA and was just a totally good, fun time. I did see several other bands, but probably nothing that would mean anything to anyone on here, except for maybe the annual-esque reunion set by Fit for Abuse.
PanzerBastard played a last minute fill in slot on a legitimate benefit (dude being honored was legitimatley quadraplegic from some tragedy) hardcore show the night after PIL. I talked with Keith as I know him through local friends and from putting him up when he came through before with Cold Northern Vengeance and he said PB will be hitting ATL by July. I hope to help get them on a good local set when the time is right to book.
