By the way, Phobia messaged us. Phobia, Wormrot and Maruta would like to have played the house show, which had more than fifty people. Unfortunately they sent the message last Saturday while we were out.

You lied about the art, so you are dishonored there fore whatever you say about me is non existant in my mind. I do not condone senseless violence, it causes only problems. With that said, I'm no coward, I will defend myself against accusations or anything else, believe that.
Who said anything about violence? But 6 people say you broke it and again 4 of them don't even know so I'm pretty sure they got nothing against you. The two that do know didn't seem to have any ill will towards you. Why would these people pick you to lie about?
Hey, Floyd...
What do you think multi-billion dollar, international firm Coca Cola is going to think when they find this thread? I guarantee you that they won't shell out money without doing their research for a particular cause. Do you think they're gonna wanna tarnish their name supporting someone who consistently slings petty insults?
How about Hot Topic? I don't think their shareholders will appreciate it when their stock declines because they're supporting fests who are not good at marketing themselves. Honestly, unless Hot Topic's marketing guy is a complete retard, I doubt they'd even be interested in supporting a few that they would know has a base that wouldn't support Hot Topic at all.
Or did you even get these sponsorships?
How were you able to, in the two days since the cancelled third day of your fest, able to secure two massive corporate sponsorships? Especially with all of these 'local politics' going around?
Please, tell me. I would love to know.

You haven't even seen the video tape and you're insulting his mother and saying a bunch of shit that would get someone beat to a pulp? I hope you're man enough to apologize when that tape proves it wasn't Jake... and i hope you're lucky enough that Jake will forgive you because I sure as shit wouldn't.DJ Pestilence wrote:Dude I'm on Jake's ass cause he fucked up plain and simple. Aside from Brian who let's face it is a dumb shit anyway and just needs to stick to playing shitty metal on wreckbutt Jake is the only person I got beef with.Ryan wrote:i've stuck up for you in the past floyd as i didn't think you were a bad guy but thanks for proving me wrong so i don't have to defend you anymore. trying to back up your opinion is one thing, just blatantly insulting people is another...especially when it's someone who actually tried to promote your fest.
i did everything i could to help you and didn't criticize a single thing about your fest publicly and i really regret it now. i think you're a terrible promoter and the reputation you've garnered over the past decade that i've known you is proof of that. i've always thought you were a good guy but you are notorious for booking shows that do horribly if they even happen at all and then place the blame anywhere but where it actually lies, with you.
your choices throughout your entire promotion of this fest doomed it to fail, even with a good line up. you alienated the people who would actually attend your fest and then insult them and the city they represent when they don't show up. you bad mouth atlanta, and by proxy, the bands here and ensure that the touring bands you screwed will not only avoid atlanta in the future but also deter other bands from coming here with tales of "scene politics" and "elitist assholes." i've already seen it on other boards and it makes me really fucking angry that i tried to help you and you still managed to give our city a worse reputation than it already had and then turn around and insult the few people who tried to help you. newsflash floyd: everyone was voicing their concerns and criticisms whether privately or on the web because people were expecting it to fall a part at the last second...hence, shitty pre sales and shitty turnouts. you came off as having no clue what you were doing and by climbing on your soap box at every criticism you made enemies of your target market. ftta is still a fledgling fest, you NEED atlanta's support for it to do well, and the result is plain to see.
i sympathized with you and i still think that anyone who wanted to see these bands that didn't come out just to spite you is an idiot but you're not helping your cause by lashing out and insulting anyone with an opinion you don't like. suck it up, you're a promoter and regardless of what you do people are going to have shit to say, you can either be a man about it and let your shows speak for themselves or you can resort to petty insults and internet threats and make yourself look worse than you already do.
as far as "the rest of Atlanta" I ain't got that much time to waste.
And Ryan I don't need to be defended. I doubt in the 10 plus years I've promoted shows in Atlanta 89-91, 01-04, 09-10 you will find more than 5 bands whom truly had reason to complain about my promoting. Especially when the same bands that aren't drawing here are not drawing elsewhere. For instance Black September played in front of about 35 people Friday and Saturday in Nashville they played in front of 8.
If I have one bad fault it's actually giving bands guarantees in some cases when I probably shouldn't. For the most part I don't do guarantees I do door splits. Thing most bands don't get is I promote shows I DO NOT PROMOTE BANDS. There's a difference. BANDS HAVE TO STILL PROMOTE THEMSELVES. For instance American Cheeseburger didn't even bother to list they were coming on whatever web presence they had. And it showed when only the other bands and FTTA staff watched them play. At the very least you have to especially in a fest confirm that you're coming. So whose more to blame for a crappy turnout the promoter who took the chance to promote an unknown band or the band who didn't take the time or effort to make themselves known? That would be my second fault booking a lot of bands that people simply don't know who the blimp they are.
I know you don't need to be defended Floyd... but when I'm supporting someone who everyone thinks is a total fucking moron and I'm trying to promote something that everyone wants to fail because of your endless self important ranting and condescending attitude I have to back up my decision somehow. That and the fact that I've never thought you were a bad guy, just someone who promised bands a lot more than he could give them and then blamed their short comings on everyone else. You don't set out to screw over bands but your incompetence ensures that you do and your ego ensures that it's never your fault.
Your little rant up there about bands promoting themselves etc. just proves my point further. You don't know what you're doing. You had a handful of good national bands that would draw here for the fest and rather than booking locals that will draw more, you book a bunch of no name bands from out of state that no one here cares about. War Famine? A Warm Gun? Betty Sue Aside? The Cooters? Your responsibility to touring bands as a promoter is to book a show that people will attend and booking your friends bands that have no draw rather than locals that do is stupid, not to mention they all canceled at the last minute. If you want people to come you have to book bands they want to see. Where were all the good locals that competed for spots on the fest? Living Decay? Doomed Youth? Let the Night Roar? Death of Kings? Those bands draw regardless of who they're playing with and would have drawn even more playing with bands like Phobia, Wormrot, Thou, and MWDH. We draw 30 to 50 people almost every time we play and we haven't played a show in 4 months. Where were those people? They didn't come. Do you know why? Because you insulted them and they wanted to see you fail.
I'm sure you will continue booking shows and I feel bad for the national acts that don't know any better than to book with you. What's sad is that when no one comes to your shows you'll still blame it on everyone but yourself.

I just want to get along, having enemies is not good. I am avery forgiving person and I will be respectful of Floyd if I run into him. I swear I did'nt break any painting. Hypotheticlly, even if I accidentlly caused any damage to anything, anywhere I would pay for it. I did make a few crititical comments about the fest online, I should'nt have done that, but I did'nt say anything nearly as mean as some other people.

it's dead kid. so dead in the dirt being picked apart by wolves and jackals that roar into the night wailing like the death of a king whose lands lie in ruins as the despair clings to the generation of doomed youth that spew forth fecal matter upon this living decay as the roaches and rats scurry upon the withered underbrush beneath the fiery sun, it is dead that breathes no more contempt for the status quo its conversion into the faith was but a brief millisecond of its tortured past.In Ruins wrote:haha, Yeah I tuned into wreckage for the first time last week and Brian was talking about the fest and the bands he was excited to see. Anyone even list to WRECKage anymore?Brian wrote:Hey Floyd, before you keep rambling on about Jake, just so you know, Jake was the ONLY ONE to come to WREKage to promote this fest. My comments weren't anti-FTTA, in fact I made several comments about wanting to check out the bands. What they did criticize was your promoting style and you calling Atlanta "apathetic" and making comments such as "Atlanta isn't even worth defending." I also did a fair bit of promotion on the show.
But you're right, I don't think anybody listens to WREKage at all since we didn't have a single person call in when we were giving away free tickets to your show.

I sure do, Knuck!
Now, call me crazy, and I might be complete retard like Floyd thinks, but golly, I don't think Mr. Kent would be too happy with his marketing department when he finds out they're supporting bands who promote drug use and crime! Metal is bad. Country is good. Everyone in the general public knows this!!
I'm glad that FTTA is the first metal fest to secure Coca Cola's sponsoring rights. Because ProgPower (the well done Atlanta fest) and MDF still haven't even done that!

I am not an enemy an enemy has to put feeling into it. I am devoid of that and just don't give a shit. Other than to call you lame ass out. You don't want to go to the extreme as to announce yourself as my enemy. Karma does weird shit to people that have gone so far.Azrael wrote:I just want to get along, having enemies is not good. I don't care either. It was Lilith Mgorin that insinuated he was going to come to our Jack's show and I need diapers. Is'nt he the guy that you handed the fest over to when you got sick? So your buddy sort of threatened me. I never said enemy.DJ Pestilence wrote:I am not an enemy an enemy has to put feeling into it. I am devoid of that and just don't give a shit.
