Do any of you have the latest album by Dodsengel? I have read good things about it and was wondering if it is worth buying. (Because I'm old fashioned like that.)

Where'd you get these? I looked for some shit for last time I saw them and found nothing. Great band.

Bought the s/t 10" (comes with a download card) at their last Earl show and the new CD/ep at the Drive-Invasion this past weekend.

Haemorrhage - The Kill Sessions
Love this band, great Carcass worship

Windir -1184
Reaffirming my belief that keyboards have no place in metal. What's annoying is that underneath the keyboard and goofy folk shit is a solid black metal band. Leave that shit at the renaissance fair.

Truth. I love the BM side of WINDIR so much that I've been able to mentally erase the gayness, the giant turkey legs, the jousting in tights. Plus, any band that has a vocalist who freezes to death wins in my book.

I agree that keyboards have no place in black metal, but what about Type O Negative? Or are you not a fan of Type O either?

Nope, slow and boring imo. Their first album is their best and it sounds nothing like the rest of their discography.

Keyboards just suck, it doesn't matter how fast/ripping or slow/crushing a riff you put them over they're always a bad idea. Rather than making songs sound more "epic" or "symphonic" or whatever it just makes them sound stupid to me. Different strokes for different folks i suppose.

Damn. I was at that EARL show. More than a bit drunk. I must have just overlooked - or looked right through - it. Maybe it's on Rob's House or something and I can order a copy.

I had to miss Drive-Invasion to see that douchebag Brooks Conrad (you know that he just has to be a douchebag with a name like that) commit three errors and effectively end the Braves post season run. I shoulda gone and won best MOPAR again instead. Ce la vie....

They will be playing at the L5P Halloween fest this weekend - the Star Bar stage I think. I'm sure they'll have that stuff there.

Thanks for the tip. I'd love to catch that, but I don't think I'll be able to. I went ahead and ordered those from their myspace page.

Second full-length on Nazgul's Eyrie is good. Actually, almost everything NE put out is good. Countess, etc. The Blackest of the Black. No "post." No "gaze." No "avant." No fun.
The one I've heard the most from is Legions of Perkele. It's so good. I'll check out the one you recommend.

Was any Barathrum released on vinyl? So far I'm only finding CDs and I'm not into wasting cash on CDs if vinyl is available. CDs are only a last choice purchase.
