Probably going to this. A peek at potential set list would seal the deal...

thats one thing i dont get, why do people look at set lists? it ruins the suprise of them playing that song(s) you really wanted to hear. if you like the band, im sure you will enjoy the set. even if you dont care for the newer material, they already said they will be playing "songs from the new album, and some other recent material, with a healthy dose of old songs."

definitely planning to go this.

I can see your point but a lot of bands will play shitty setlists and only play new stuff if you like their old stuff.

And if you've seen them before and you want to see them again but they're playing the same songs again, seeing a setlist is a deciding factor for me a lot of the times. It just depends on the band and how many times I've seen them.

Some people like to be surprised but I don't. Just depends on the person I think.

It depends on the band, too, for me.

If it's a band that I love from start to finish, then I want to be surprised for sure. If it's a band I only like some shit from it's cool to have a set list so that I can come and go as needed.

If it's a band like Maiden, well, their and my definition of "a healthy dose of old stuff" are likely quite different. With the exception of very few songs, I'm only interested up to about Powerslave. I ain't driving my ass down to a state I'm not fond of and wasting a bunch of cash to hear a half dozen "hits" and the rest newer filler.

So, yeah, 70% of the shit I wanna hear and I'm probably in.

And another reason I like to see setilsts is I'm not really huge into lyrics so if I see a setlist, I can add the exact setlist to a playlist in iTunes, add lyrics to all the songs and know the songs before I go.

I am embarrassed to admit that I have seen a ton of bands where I knew neither the name of the song nor the lyrics.

I've been listening to a certain punk band for 23 years and still have no idea what the fuck they're saying. Not a clue.

I'm pretty sure that Green Day prints their lyrics in the liner.

I guess I can't understand what they're saying because they're broadcasting from inside the womb.
