Yeah, but you hate Devil's Blood, too. I love the mix of metal, stoner, bits of Goblin and a strong rock foundation. Very cool and unique, to me. It's rare that rock is good anymore.

Not true! AC/DC plays POWERAGE nearly every day on my stereo. Only to be followed by HIGH VOLTAGE, and then my mom's LITTLE RICHARD records.

I saw she was on the cover of Maxim today and got excited. Haha.

I used to have her album lyrics booklet taped to my wall in my room. I won't make fun.

Also, been listening to the Liquid Metal channel on Sirius/XM, since my new car has free Sirius radio for six months. It's okayyyyyy.
Amazingly, despite having the freedom of basically playing anything the fuck they want, without regard to obscenity laws or anything, they tend to play a lot of songs over and over again ("Abraxas of Filth," anyone?)
--Which was always my biggest complaint with regular FM rock-radio. How is this that much of an improvement?

It was way better before Sirius and XM merged and they fired all the good DJs. I canceled my subscription when that happened.

Really? I gather that, in order to be a deejay on Liquid Metal nowadays, either you have to have written some metal book or have a Hispanic name like Mario or Jose. I'm kinda wondering how much better it was before.

Since I'm an old fuck, I can always listen to Hair Nation if they start playing too much shitty metalcore.

It's actually gotten much better again recently. They've been playing the hell out of thrash old and new. Last week was 50% thrash with the week-long Thrash Attack special and it seems to have been so successful that they've really upped the percentage of thrash they are playing on an hourly basis. I hope that trend is long lasting.

Just like traditional radio, they have bands/albums to support, hype and do tie-ins with. Kinda sucks, but I enjoy it enough that when my free subscription in my car gave out I renewed. When the metalcore gets too thick, I just flip the station or turn on the iPod.

I like that I can play it on my iPhone and use it in the husband's car, stream it at my desk, etc...There are quite a few good stations. The 80s alternative First Wave station plays some pretty deep cuts if you dig new wave and post punk. There's enough shit on there that between Sirius and my iPod I can commute 2 plus hours a day with out mounting a machine gun to my hood.

Well I canceled when they first took over. It was Jose playing Deftones 50 times a day and they took away the extreme metal time at like 5pm or 6pm or whatever. They had a bunch of cool DJs and all of them were fired.

But you may be right badcarburator...I was in my dad's car the other night and they were playing Cannibal Corpse, Insect Warfare, and Exhumed back to back. They must have gotten complaints.

I'll see for myself since even though I canceled, I still have it installed in my car and there's a free trial period between November 18th-December 1st.
