They've added Fear Factory to the bill.

Now it's the 70,001 Tons of Metal Cruise.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

My mom talked me into going on a cruise this October...and I just realized it's on the same ship, Majesty of the Seas.

I should have known something was up....the queen's "godmother" is Queen Sonja of Norway. I don't see that many Norwegian black-metal bands on the metal-cruise, though. :D

Would love to see Moonspell. On land or sea.

From the FAQ:

"Will the bands be onboard the whole time?
All of our artists are excited to join you onboard all four days of the event! There may be some cases where an artist must join us during the trip or depart early due to schedule or family commitments."

What are they going to be helicoptered out or something? Maybe on a dingy they'll "depart."

(Resurrecting this one thread)

This, BTW, is a very good question. I've been on that ship recently, and it does NOT have a helipad. (There are a few that do.)
Also, their special cruise itinerary only takes them to Cozumel and back, so they're at sea for at least two days out of the four. That ship usually goes to Key West and then the Bahamas on its weekly itinerary, so it's at an air-accessible port almost every day...but NOT on this cruise.

There are a lot of logistical questions about this thing, like....how are they gonna build a stage on the pool-deck in less than six hours?

Damnit, I wanna go just to see how they DO it.

I'm resurrecting this not because I anticipate anyone from this board, including myself, to be attending, merely to document the ever growing ridiculousness of the whole thing. Blind Guardian, Dark Tranquillity and ... Voivod (?) have been added. As has a Bathory tribute band featuring Alan Nemtheanga (Primordial vox), Nick Barker, Mayhem's Blasphemer, and dudes from Einherjer and Thyrfing.

Unless I am reading the site wrong, it appears to be nearly sold out. Can I have one thousand dollars?

My mom keeps dropping hints about going on a cruise with us. As much as I abhor the very idea, maybe this cruise could be an acceptable compromise. Put me down for $1K too, please.
