im sure it is, the idea just seems completely obsolete. even more so when bands record the shit themselves, burn the recording to cd, then dub it to tape, and make it themselves, and limit it to like 40 copies. it just seems silly.
your church was turned into an abortion clinic and we use it all the time... sluts!!!
cheapness is definitely nice and not having to get a shitload pressed to get a decent deal on them. also i'd bet more people have cassette players around then record players, not that it matters as both are pretty archaic.
i find tapes have a far more collectible aesthetic than cds. you can get different color shells and cases and just the fact that you have to go out of your way to listen to them gives them more meaning than just another cd. also the tapes we just put out are cd quality sound and in reality all music will end up on the web to download for free so creating a collectible aesthetic is really the only way to get people to actually purchase a physical copy of music anymore.

If it's silly, bands didn't get that memo. Been reviewing music for publications for over 10 yrs and I've been getting tapes in the mail the entire time. I would call that a well sustained "trend" if anything.Matt wrote:i know, i dont either. i just find it silly to go out of your way to press limited number of cassettes. yea sure its cool, but the idea is just completely silly to me.
Sounds like you're just trying to be provocative. It's just a format, man. No big deal.
