New albums you are looking forward to?
I heard a song off the new Demons and Wizards, a great theme album about the Dark Tower series. I wondered if they (BG) ever would, because they did have one song from the past that was about it, Somewhere Far Beyond. But it only really was about the second book in the series, Drawing of the Three.
The new Type O Negative album will be out either this summer or fall, probably fall I hear.
I would like to hear some new Opeth and Agalloch, but I havent hard any news on them.
What's yours?

I would be very surprised if Opeth played anything off of "Ghost Reveries" on SotU. I'm afraid, especially from what I've heard, that they will probably only have a 30 minute set. My suggestion for a short set is Black Rose Immortal, Bleak, and Demon of the Fall, which is around 35 minutes, but very unlikely.
I think Opeth will approach SotU as an opportunity to play in front of a new audience, so I don't think they will play any of the new material. They will save it for a full healining tour in support of the album after its releases. That's my prediction anyway.
As for new albums...the new Darkane is supposed to be good. Otherwise, I think the end of 2005 will be anti-climactic in comparison to the many good albums released at the beginning of the year. On the other hand, "Ghost Reveries" could single-handedly swing that statement.

Im definately eager for some new Opeth too. Ive got all the records and am a huge Opeth fan, but I am afriad the new cd "Ghost Reveries" is not going to be another masterpiece like they did in the 90's. And Yeah Dan, I tihnk they are playing for 30 minutes which is virtually nothing for a band like Opeth. I would like them to play "The Forest of October", "The Moor" and "The Leper Affinity" or sometihng along that order. But I did hear, that Opeth is closing sotu on one of the shows because lamb of god wont make it. I think paying $30 for a sotu ticket is a rip, but this is Opeth and they may not be coming back across the seas many more times seeing as Peter got married and Mikael has a family now. Its a shame all the other bands on this bill are complete garbage. I certainly Hope That "Ghost Reveries" will be a step back to material like "MAYH" , "Morningrise" , "Orchid" or even "Blackwater Park". But I dont think it will be because of their new signing with roadrunner. I think it is great for Opeth that they are with one of the more premier labels in the world. But I think on a mainstream label like that with retarted trash like "Slipknot, Ill Ninio" and all these other crap bands, Opeth will not be allowed to persue their old style of "Raw, Unorthodox" material because label will probobly fear something as such will not sell. This Opeth Opus is getting more hype and attention from media and all than any of their other recordings in the past, and I tihnk because of that, this record will probobly be a watered down version of deliverance. Although Mikael did say he was going to try and incorperate some "Gregorian Chance" into the mix and get back to the old roots, I am a bit skeptical. I certainly hope that it is a good record, and Neverthe less I will still buy it to support the guys and add to my collection, Opeth was the band (along with iron maiden) that got me into metal. So I anticipate it and will definately pick it up, but I dont think this new record will satisfy the dissapointment on the Opeth boards and forums after the D1 and D2 release.
You sound like the entire Blabbermouth site right here.Asrynth wrote: I certainly Hope That "Ghost Reveries" will be a step back to material like "MAYH" , "Morningrise" , "Orchid" or even "Blackwater Park". Apparently their album is already done and recorded so roadrunner can't go and screw this one up, they are just going through all the legal red tape to get it out, promote it, etc. I have a feeling they know Opeth will be a total cash cow for them if they just leave them alone and let them do their thing.

Hopefully so, I hope they do another DVD also and get to play for twice as long, and they can play any songs they want. Lamentations was kind of dissapointing because they only played the "KOCH Music For Nations" Material.

There's a track listing and cover art up on the Opeth site.
The album is going for radio adds august 29th and 30th so it should be out on the street a week or two within that time.
By the way here's a snippet of an email that Roadrunner chick sent out a few days ago to the hosts list:

So there you have it, hopefully Roadrunner will run with her idea and call their next tour the Creaming Panties tourOPETH
"Ghost Reveries"
ADDING TO METAL RADIO 29 & 30 AUGUST 2005
*The Gods Of Heavy Metal return with Ghost Reveries, which, in my opine, is an alloy of Blackwater Park, Deliverance, and Damnation.
*I think I creamed my panties when I listened to this record in Sweden. I saw a fire in Mike A's eyes. He said, "Make our band go to the next level" and I replied, "Mike, it is my honour and my privelege. Thank you for signing to RR."
*For all you who think Opeth sold out, I'll have you know they signed to RR for less cash up front in order for long term promotion and label stability in order to expose their band to an even wider base. The album was already written and recorded when the deal was inked. So, there's no selling out. There's no buying in. Album is godly. GODLY. They want to reach a much wider audience, and they chose RR to help them do it.
*IDs were not recorded in Sweden due to a DAT problem, so I will get the band to do them on SOTU and then cut them in conjunction with the radio campagin.
*Song titles include "Grand Conjuration" (the evil metal radio song), "Baying Of The Hounds," "Isolation Years." "IY" is the ballad.
*We will do edits of songs and ship with the full, so you can choose what you play. Most of the songs are between 8-10 minutes, and some of you can't play songs that long, so we'll get you something you can play. We just ask that you announce that you are not playing the full album version. The band doesn't love the idea of edits, but understands that they need to be done so commercial block shows can play the record and increase exponentially the amount of people hearing about Opeth.
*Band is on SOTU, and yes, I have tix and ints, so get in fucking touch! You can have the bands at yer leisure.
*Wanna hear snippets of Ghost Revs? Call me. I'll play it.
hearing about Opeth."
