Didn't start until about 1:15 or so, but raged nonstop 'til nearly 4:00. I'd guess maybe 45-50 folks came through the door, but a surprising number stayed to the very end. Props to the few pyschos I spoke with that had to work this morning. The last couple of shows at this place has been great. Great food too actually.
What's fucked up about this is that when Mark and I were booking the Parasytic show, we asked how the Cruel Hand show was the week before and the owner told us the only thing that happened was that hand rail came loose from the crowd. So they should have put a sign or something around the handrail telling people not to lean on it. They were watching that guy lean on it the whole time, until it broke and he fell on his ass (kinda funny). But that's fucked they made you pay for it like it was only this show that damaged it.Azrael wrote:It was certainly a rager. One of the handrails by the back door got broke off, we had to choke up $30 of the door money to fix it, even still Coffin Dust got $80. Everyone totally had a blast even though it was late, and we all made sure the touring band got paid. Well done.
Damn, I should have gone.MS_39455 wrote:Didn't start until about 1:15 or so, but raged nonstop 'til nearly 4:00. Man, that's shady actually. I wonder if they've done that to bands before.
Well maybe (and hopefully), they tried fixing it once already, which cost the $30. I'd say keep an eye out on them.Azrael wrote:In Ruins wrote:What's fucked up about this is that when Mark and I were booking the Parasytic show, we asked how the Cruel Hand show was the week before and the owner told us the only thing that happened was that hand rail came loose from the crowd. The guy that does the shows there def seems a little shady but he was cool enough to let us do it there last minute so i'm not gonna sweat it this time. Realisticly, that handrail is there for safety so it breaking and someone falling is a liability to them. He's lucky I gave him anything at all since it was broken just from someone leaning on it... which is what it's there for.ratanda wrote:Well maybe (and hopefully), they tried fixing it once already, which cost the $30. The lady that runs Picaflor just flaked out. My buddy matt who booked it there hit her up the day of the show and got a text back from her like 3 hours later just saying she had a family emergency and that it was canceled.lsaldana wrote:Whatever happened to the old venue for this? Never got around to ask anybody...
