Screeching Weasel 4/9

Post by masquerade » Sun January 23rd, 2011, 9:47 pm

Not metal but I thought there might be some interest here.

Legendary punk band Screeching Weasel performing a 25th Anniversary show on April 9. Influenced several generations of pop/punk bands such as Green Day, Blink 182, etc.

On sale now.

LOL. Someone influenced everyone. Check out Screeching Weasel.

One of the first bands I ever booked in Tampa before Masquerade opened here in '90. The few reunion shows they have done so far have all sold out.

BTW, aside from what they have become today, the first Green Day show at Masquerade was one of the best we have ever had.

Screeching Weasel used to be one of the very top bands of their era. My Brain Hurts remains one of the best punk releases of the nineties. I'm pretty burned on Ben Weasel's petty whining and political 180 based on nothing more than being pissy that everyone else reached for the pay day and he held out only to now regret his actions.

Whatever the case, though, I'm totally in.

And Green Day has only put out a few albums that haven't been quality start to finish.
