i heard that about a month ago and was pretty impressed. i'm not a fan of converge or hope conspiracy so i wasn't expecting much but it's pretty viscous.

Because of all the love in this thread, I checked out some Negative Plane. Somehow, I missed the Et in Saecula Saeculorum release and I'm going to have to pick that one up.

I heard "Angels of Veiled Bone" over at Invisible Oranges. I have to say, I drew some negative associations. Like, maybe, oh ... "the monolith was in danger of being trod upon by a dwarf." Just sayin'.

You're really making too big of a thing out of it.

Maybe so. But that is what the song reminded me of.

Wrong. The proper response would have been, "Making a 'big thing' out of it would have been a good idea!"

You don't do heavy metal in doubly. Those key interludes take some getting used to at times, but I think both of those records are worth a good listening session.

NP is not a band I get the traditional Moorcock, Tolkein, Howard vibe from... at all. Lovecraft, you bet. But always a notion that what I'm listening to is bigger than me and dangerous.
