ProgPower 2011 (SANCTUARY, IHSAHN, Therion)
Moderators: Brian, Metalfreak, MS_39455, AtlantaMetal Staff
Swedish progressive metallers Evergrey, have confirmed a world exclusive performance of their 2001 epic concept album, "In Search of Truth," in its entirety at the ProgPower USA XII Kick-Off Show on September 15th at the annual progressive and power metal festival held in Atlanta, Georgia.
Vocalist, Tom Englund explains:
Glenn (the promoter) asked me for a special show,….what else is new as he always does… hrmpff. So to pay tribute to one of our most loved albums, we decided to celebrate the tenth anniversary of "In Search of Truth" by playing the whole damned thing. This will be an exclusive for Atlanta and the Progpower USA show alone. One thing I do need to mention is that the backing-tracks for the songs are long gone, BUT we will try to do it justice as well as we can. Don´t miss this smurf poo as it will be an EPIC milestone....or failure! This is Tom signing out from the rehearsing room, trying to learn the damn string-skipping part of "The Encounter"...
Evergrey will also perform a U.S. exclusive acoustic show at the Mid-Week Mayhem on September 14th to start the week’s festivities.
Bands confirmed for the festival:
Arcturus**
Creation's End
Darkwater**
Dream Evil**
Eldritch**
Evergrey
Haken**
Labyrinth**
Mob Rules**
Red Circuit**
Sanctuary
Therion**
Vanden Plas**
Voyager
While Heaven Wept
** U.S. Exclusive
Ticket and show information can be found at the ProgPower USA website (www.progpowerusa.com).

That double-star next to Arcturus still gives me the shivers, as well as Therion's. Smart money says both performances will be those bands' last-ever U.S. shows. (In Arcturus' case, first, last and only.)Bands confirmed for the festival:

anyone know if they're going to sell one day only passes? After shelling out $400 for MDF so far (plane tix, lodging, 3 day pass), I kinda don't want to spend another $130-something on a concert in my home city for just one or 2 bands. MDF has passes sold separately for each day...doing something like that for ProgPower would make it a bit more accessible for us broke folk lol

yeah same here. I bet it's alot of fun...it's just that I'm fuckin broke and I still haven't paid off MDF yet (some of it is on my credit card ugh!) I can definitely afford this come late June but by then, it may be sold outBrian wrote:Not sure of the exact number but I think it's under 200 by now.
You should go! I don't even listen to prog or power metal much but I still go every year, haha. It's a lot of fun.
