What were you doing in Germany? It wasn't a chick was it?

I used to live in Holland--for a chick I'm now married to.
I was stationed there near Ansbach. Germany is probably the best country for metal/grind and I miss it lots... No, though I met one and planning to bring her here if she is still interested, but yeah...
Prepare her for culture shock. That's what happened to me when I went to the Netherlands.

Did you get a chance to go to Wacken while you were there? Or the Rock Hard Fest?
Oh I am prepared how a concert is defined in america than europe, but not for Amon Amarth. Will there be viking hats present? xD j/k

For other fests, Ive been to mostly the goregrind/grindcore shows (which I am mainly into anyway), but Ive been to a couple well-known ones in Germany like Party San, Eisenwahn, Neurotic Death Feast, but I missed it by one year, I wanted to see a Fuck the Commerce Festival, but I did get to see Obscene Extreme Fest in 2010 for the first time. Wacken sounds too much of a variety of metal. I like my fests to include some, but stuck to the mainpoint what its about i.e. Brutal Death Metal / Grindcore bands in one fest, not BDM, Grindcore, Black, Thrash, Speed, Nu, and some shitty local folk band that no venue will take aka what America has usually.

So yeah, the culture shock seems right up my alley though, I look forward to it since I havent been to any since Mid American Metalfest 1 in Collinsville, Illinois w/ Lividity and Putrid Pile in October 09...

Are there no openers on this? If the doors are at 7, what time is this going to actually start? 8? 9? I'm tired of guessing.

i think, THINK, it starts at 8, it seems to have started then at most of the other shows.

No opener either. A night with Amon Amarth, they're playing 2 sets.

Ah, sorry about that. Unfortunately I already got burgers on the grill. So I'll be stuffed by then. But we can do Jack's before D.R.I.

How was that stink for you? I've seen pictures on the internet of that show and a few videos. That year looked like a badass time. Even though grind isn't my favorite I would have totally been down to go for that show.
