Thanks for posting these. I am listenting to shortest straw right now and it certainly sounds more aggressive then the more polished studio version.

You assholes are right, I should take it easy on prince charming Lars and his professional tennis dad.

"Abso-fuckin'-lutely." I would amend only to add Garage Days Re-Revisted.

I knew you'd eventually come around to my point of view.

Personally I would add the next two. AJFA still kicks my ass like the others just in a different way. Still has the power and thrash but more complicated songs and f'n great solo's...

I'll say this: Never underestimate a trully greedy person. Just because James and Kirk had trouble buying guitar amps is in no way proof that Lars was broke. I was in a band with a guy who inherited $50,000 and came to practice bragging about it, then told us he wasn't going to spend a dime on the band, and didn't. Then bought an extended cab Dodge truck with a Hemi. He barely paid his fucking jamspace rent. We weren't there, so we don't know what happened. While James, Kirk and Cliff were having "Losers lunch" Lars could have been sneaking off to Red Lobster or some shit.

All true, chief.

There are some passages in "Some Kind of Monster" that are telling, I think: James is riding down the freeway in a custom hot rod; Kirk has purchased a ranch, far away from the rat race; and, Lars is auctioning off his multi-million dollar art collection.

I've only eaten there twice in my entire life. And both times I wasn't paying. (one of those times was for my high school graduation) That shit is so damn tasty but expensive as fuck!

This is truth. 75% of their menu can be found in the frozen food aisle at Kroger for about a quarter of the price.
