Oh and if for some reason you've never listened to him, give Eminem a shot. His fans might be idiots, but his first 3 records are FLAWLESS.

because that's not what real rap is. that's like saying why can't metalheads make poetry instead of using gay ass samples and dressing in jumpsuits just because you saw a slipknot concert on tv. what ever you're hearing is a bad rep. not saying everyones going to like the real stuff either but it's at least more respectable. i haven't heard the stuff on wreck but if you're talking about samples and scratching records in the background it's not good rap almost guaranteed. it's almost harder to find people listening to good rap then good metal i think. i could try to link you to some stuff my friend makes later or something if you wanted to hear but i'm not using my normal computer so i'd have to go search for it
You got a good point there. This is the second time I've heard rap defended by a metalhead. I'll look up some of these rappers on youtube. I can't promise I'll like any of it, but I'll listen anyway for shits and giggles.

Why would anyone bother taking offense? It isn't as though you're losing your heavy metal street creed by clicking this thread or admitting that you like rap. Maybe the Archive Gallery needs to make money and they want to have fun trying to make more money.

No one stopped going to the PS when they had that dance party w/e during the Trapped Under Ice show. When one of you metal gods finds a venue space; you can run the venue the way you want it run and have nothing but the most brutal kvlt shows in all of Atlanta.

Also Jake, I don't even remember who I talked to last week. Why would I care? or better yet why should I care?

i mean he obvious drags influence off of some of those rappers but i like his style more. less sampling of other songs and melodies than immortal. almost all of it is created by him. the only links i've got right now are on my I_LOVE_ZUCKERPENIS page but it's missing a few of his better songs. ill try to do it when i get home but that'll be a few weeks

Some pretty good stuff there. The voice is definitely of a 16 year old.

It's as if they want everyone to leave or something. I'd rather hear silence than rap. Since when did a turntable become an instrument anyway? It's just bad poetry set to a skipping record. Just my opinion, too.[/quote]

Quoted for truth, Gene is right on. I really don't give a fuck if no one from this thread comes, I was just putting it out there. And look, it has spawned some pretty cool (and uncool) conversation other than "yeah this shows gonna be sick"

THATS WHAT A FORUM IS FOR RIGHT? -for conversation.

cum or don't come i don't give a fuck.

listen to mos def, wu-tang, nas, black sheep, ghost face killah, method man, redman devin tha dude, charlie 2na -those are real.

these are novelty but fucking gangster: gucci mane, waka flaka, oj da juice mane, young joc, jeezy, lil wayne, lil scrappy, crime mob, travis porter

what you need to do is invite Wrest from Leviathan he rapes bitches with tattoo guns, so i am sure he knows wu-tang clan ain't nutin to fuck wit,
as for immortal technique- i think their tremolo picking on sons of northern darkness is pretty good
i wuz gunna git Demonaz - solo album but realized Nas wasn't on it
if we balance the dance party out so its not reverse racism by making white kids look like they can't dance ,
how about i reverse my corpse paint and have my metal al jolson tribute band Iron Minstrel play

last good rap i heard was luke ski at dragon -con , and mainly because slave leia was gettin low

but i am going to have my manifesto on transcendental gangsta rap in the durty south out next week
so word is born , valholla atcha
