Not many girls like metal so it's pretty awesome when I have another vagina to talk to. There's definitely alot more metalchicks than before.

When I was in my mid teens, I was somehow brainwashed into thinking 99% of metalchicks are total nut jobs. It was probably when I was 20-21 when I realized that's not true. (yeah, we all can be a little crazy lol) As a result, I had hardly any female metalhead friends up until that point. It was then I realized that the person who got me thinking that way probably had jealousy and self esteem issues. I guess I was just still very impressionable then. Now, I don't give a fuck what gender you are or anything, if you like good metal and you're cool to chill with then that's good enough for me! Fuck bitches who are jealous and catty!

i have found the metal chick factor varies from city to city
intown or at least where i live in the little five points area , there is what i call the irony maidens, scene chick who like the novelty or metal , they are former myspace girls who prolly have every time i die on their profile players , but now can be found at whores or Zoroaster shows
when you get to their apts ...that their parents pay the rent on , you will not a bathory album in sight, despite the patch on their jean jacket vest, and they will be bumping like mgmt or the black lips or something equally awful
most of the girls who i have dated intown that really listen to metal , also have drug problems , though i am the common denominator in these relationships so it has nothing to do with metal and more my broken people picker that chooses to operate out of the murky depths of my subconscious

and all other girls - there has to be a willingness/open mindedness to appreciate metal or its a deal breaker , the rolling of eyes when dissection is blared is unacceptable , even if i am playing air guitar to it on the kitchen counter

Yeah, what is important here is the "cool to chill with" and "like good metal" part. I bet you were only around girls who like wear shitty spiked chokers and hosiery on their arms and listen to Epica before. It seems like I saw a lot of people like that 5 or 6 years ago.

LOL! Why is it always Bathory? But about Zoroaster, their shows used to be the shit! I still go to them all the time but really miss the fog and light shows.

Girls who otherwise do not listen to metal but like the style always seem to be rocking a Bathory shirt/patch.

My wife, daughter, and I went to the zoo the other day and as we're walking down the sidewalk we pass a dude in his 40's or 50's helping some super old lady (probably his mom) out of a van. He looks over at us and notices my Napalm Death shirt and goes "Woah! Napalm Death huh? That's some old stuff! They're not still around are they?" So i said yeah but it's not nearly as good as the old stuff to which he replied "Wow! That's crazy! I remember when Scum came out, haven't listened to that in forever." So I told him to bust it out cuz it still rules.

lol I remember those. No, I didn't hang with them though (cause they don't listen to good metal hahahaha!) I just didn't have any female metalhead friends really.

As far as crazy chicks go, I have a tendency to avoid anyone who's crazy (I mean really crazy to the point they have to take meds for it, addicted to hard drugs etc) I dealt with that enough in my own family (not me, thankfully!) so yeah, I don't care to hang around people who are like that either.

@Ryan - dude that is awesome. I hope he did break out Scum and listened to it on repeat!

In the latest issue of The Atlantic, there is a story entitled "Pink Floyd: The Playlist of Libyan Revolt," about how the student rebels are uniting through Western rock music.

What caught my attention was the guy they introduce on the second page, in the Sepultura shirt. Who sang in a Death Metal band. In Libya. Real death metal, inspired by Cannibal Corpse, Death, Morbid Angel, etc.
For Bozaid, a machine gunner who put his body count at more than 25, preparation for battle meant listening to Slayer on his smart phone. "Some of my friends said that I should be reading the Koran. But I neeed my drug."
Fuckin' A.
