I finally bought an actual amp. I bought a Marshall 3210 Lead 100 MOSFET head. From my research, it's one of the first Marshall solid state amps, made in the mid '80s. Sounds fantastic for clean tones, and a bit fuzzy for distortion but it can blast. The amp sounds great in conjunction with a good distortion pedal or a multi-FX processor (like my Digitech or a POD). I played it before I got it and I'm happy with it. I'll experiment with pedals later on. I planned on building a pedal board anyway.
So now, I don't know dick about cabs. What kind of speakers should I be looking for? I'm after a really ballsy metal tone (aren't we all?).
After almost 11 years of playing guitar...

I bet the cleans on that amp rule, I've always preferred solidstate for clean tones. Distortion probably isn't that bad either.
I'd say Mesa Cab used around here is you're best bet. I've seen them go for $450-$350 on Craigslist which cheap as hell for being considered the best cabs for metal. Europeans have to usually pay more than 1,000 euros for one over there. If you can't find any good deals on those the Marshall 1960's are also great cabs to look at. They probably go used for about the same price.

The cleans are quite awesome.
The heavy tone isn't too bad either. I didn't really have much time to dial in something close to my liking, but I had it sounding pretty decent. It'll take some more experimentation (and a cab), but I'll get one in.
I've been looking at cabs, and good ones aren't too expensive so I'm not worried about it. I'm moving in a few weeks so I'm just gonna wait until then. But I can't wait to finally have a complete rig for playing shows. I'll assemble Algarothsyum into a full band after this.
