STUPIDEST IDEA EVER

Post by stewvee » Mon August 22nd, 2011, 5:08 pm

Is it possible to locate some rural property in GA where "we" could get like ten/fifteeen bands to play over two days?

These things are totally necessary:

Property

No close n'bors to said property or at least "tolerant" n'bors if they are somewhat close

Electricity/portable generators

Bands, preferably GA Death Metal bands

People who wouldn't mind donating like maybe $20 a head to make it happen

People willing to stay on site, i.e. camping

Drugs/alcohol !

The likelihood of this happening is next to nada, right?

The REAL BIG things are land and electricity and getting everyone to STAY once they get there so there's no chance of anyone getting hurt/DUI etc.

This would rule. Requires black metal bands for a woods show. The house in Senoia where the upcoming Beeravore show is, maybe?

If there are drugs and plenty beer im sure people would stay. I'm pretty sure you can rent a generator too but i don't know how well those work for shows. This would be gnarly as fuck though, Death Metal Woodstock

This would be awesome. I have been thinking ... really daydreaming about something like this. I would totally be down for putting in some effort.

Seriously Stew, you pretty much just described the Death Barn way down in Senoia. I would absolutely save some scratch for any event even remotely like this. Bring your tent, but fall on your face and gasp for air throughout the rest of the morning and following afternoon while baking under the sun kind of a deal (strangely familiar). Count me in. I am completely serious about this. Any land owners? Ideas? I'd throw a few bucks and several cases of beer that way.

yeah, not a stupid idea at all! i'd throw in some money and beer for something like this. sounds totally cool. and yes, the tricky part is a generator. enough to power the amps/light etc. generators are pretty reliable, definatly need a few of them fuckers though, big ones..

that would be awesome..have often thought about this myself...my old bandmates had a buddy with property that we where wanting to do something like this way back but never happened. If there was someone with a few acres to do with it wouldn't be all that hard to get going. The generator situation and putting a stage together would be the hardest part. The rest would be everyone grillin, beer swillin and ragin to some badass metal. Count me in on any help needed. Defintely would be a cool thing we could pull off and u never know could be an annual thing if it goes right. Great idea...Let the gods of metal let this happen.

Stage doesn't necessarily have to be elaborate. It would probably be easier to do without one, to be honest. Worked at 585 and Archive, after all.

The biggest obstacle I see is making it big enough so lots of people come out but small enough to avoid the whole permit hassle.....maybe like a redneck Gathering of Shadows.
