MAAAAAAN! How 'bout them Falcons! That was quite a satisfying win last night. ANY win at this point is good (considering they couldn't manage to win one single goddamn preseason game and lost the season opener to Jay "Another Interception" Cutler and the Chicago Bears), but anytime you can make Michael Vick spit blood and have a concussion is ESPECIALLY wonderful.

haha great game last night. was glad the falcons were able to pull through. some killer plays in there... Gonzalez's TD catch in the back of the end zone was stellar, shit like that is why he'll be in the hall of fame and Jones looked great as well. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

My fantasy team is FUCKED though, ugh.

I'm not too enthused about Julio Jones so far. I'm a Bama fan and loved seeing him and Mark Ingram blow the doors off everyone 2 years ago in their BCS title year, but he's looked very unimpressive to me so far with the Falcons. In preseason, he dropped several passes that should've been easy completions. Last night there were two plays in particular he could've made had he shown a little more enthusiasm and dove for the catch like any decent NFL wide receiver is SUPPOSED TO DO. The 2nd one in particular really pissed me off that he didn't bother diving for it, because the defender behind him DID dive for it and it was an interception. All Jones did was slap a hand at it as if to say, "Meh, I don't wanna get my nice new jersey dirty, fuck it." Then after the corner picks it off, he doesn't even consider going after him or putting forth the effort it would take to touch him down as he was on the turf and end the play. They cut people like Michael Jenkins and Brian Finneran (who played very well last season) loose to make room for this kid because he was supposed to be such a great receiver, and then he doesn't even try to live up to expectations.

I gotta wonder what Thomas Dimitrov is smoking to butcher a winning offenses receiving core and then damn near completely ignore making any strong defensive changes. For christs sake they were #1 NFC seed last year because the offense was doing an excellent job. It was the defense that couldn't stop Green Bay from marching down the field at will in the post season. I was 100% convinced last year that it was finally going to be our year for a Superbowl win. New Orleans got theirs, I figured it was our turn. We were a shoe-in. We had already beaten Green Bay once. Once they were out of the way, no one else would've been able to stop us.

BUT...

Thanks for nothing, Falcons defense.

Good catches from Gonzalez but it was Turner big 60+ run and td that gave them the lead.
Vick sucks ass, he is so overrated and overpayed its crazy.Glad he got his ass beat up last night its the least he deserves.
Falcons made a statement last night by coming back and not dropping 2 loses in a row at least but they always seem to find a way to screw things up sooner or later.We will see what they can do this year they have a tough schedule.

Yeah, i was disappointed in Jones reaction to the interception as well but we'll see what happens. He's still young.

Purely a miracle. I'm wondering when he's gonna earn the name Michael "Turnover" from the media. Seems like he does it a lot more often since that last injury. 2 years ago, he was bulldozing through motherfuckers like a steamroller. Now he's only looking for open holes and tiptoeing his way through like he's scared or something. I can't believe they let Jerious Norwood leave. Dumb move in my opinion.

I HATE the Cowboys. But you can't really blame Tony Homo for Jerry Jones. But I guess you can blame Jerry Jones for Tony Homo.

I'm glad Dallas got that crybaby linebacker Keith Brooking from the Falcons. They deserve that peckerhead.

I wasn't aware Falcons fans even existed. Sure seems that way when you've got a TV ad campaign going just to remind people that Atlanta has a football team and we should care about it and mostly Packers fans fill the dome during your playoff game.
