Inspired by that recent Slavic metal discussion on here, I busted out the credit card in a weak moment while browsing Hell's Headbangers and came across these guys while looking for the latest Temnozor album. Vo Skorbyah's got a great massive funeral doomish vibe with a kind of folky flare in some places (which I generally steer clear of). The pipes and clean vocals aren't over done and it's all mid-tempo enough to straddle that funeral - death line. Squeeze a drop of psychedelia in there and you've got Vo Skorbyah. It's kept kept my attention without a break since I pulled it out of the mail box on the way to work this morning. I still have a stack of shit sitting here that I haven't even previewed yet.

Hmmm I generally hate anything with "folk" influence but I think the rest of your description is enough for me to take a look anyway. To the blogs!

Yeah, honestly dude I'd be real surprised if you like it even a little bit. Check out track number two if you feel like digging it up on a blog somewhere.

Yeah, those deep almost slurred female vocals really do it for me for some reason. I can almost hear The Gault in there somehow.

The album is knocking on five years old now. Obviously, I have a lot of catching up to do, but it's exactly what I needed to hear in the now.

Demoncy - Joined In Darkness
Benighted In Sodom - Plateau Σ: The Harrowing
Beneath the Frozen Soil/Negative Reaction - split
Diabolic - Infinity Through Purification
