I'm trying to get a good collection of Atlanta-stuff over at the station. I just got in touch with a guy who is going to send me a copy of Disjecta Membra's WREK performance from 1992

Nice! I remember them.
I'd still love to hear the Necrotic Dawn Live at WREK. That would either be awesome or totally cringe-inducing. One or the other. I talked to a friend of mine last week who said he has it on tape somewhere.
For a comprehensive listing of Atlanta bands, I'd check with Josh (my singer/bass player). He was in Blackness and they played a shit ton of shows with all knids of local bands. And he still has a lot of their demos as well. They're on tape, but he's got 'em.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

awesome dude. I have some stuff I can copy for you if you want...you should do an all local show on wrekage one night (or at least a couple of hours worth since it's 6 hours long). I have a Lestregus Nosferatus tape too...people requested them from time to time but I had no way to play it haha
They had you do a drug test and the forgot to test for drugs???

I think Necropolis is mentioned in the Get Thrashed documentary...if only in passing.

"ROT" AND "TERMINAL DOOM EXPLOSION". ALL THOSE DUDES TURNED INTO "ZOROASTER" AND "ORDER OF THE OWL". BEFORE THOSE GUYS INTRODUCED ATLANTA TO ALL OF THE "EARACHE RECORDS" TYPE OF SOUNDS IN THE LATE 80'S/90'S, THE BEST GROUPS WERE "LASTREGUS NASFERATU". AND "NIHILIST". I ALSO DIG THE 3 PIECE "LASTREGUS" WITH DOUG FRONTING THE GROUP, JIMMY ON BASS AND RICH OF COURSE ROCKING THE DRUMS. ANYONE HAVE THE THREE PIECE "LASTREGUS" DEMO CALLED "SMOKE"????

Looks like its been a while since this thread had some views. Would like to bump this, especially with what seems to be a lot of new bands coming into the scene.

Still haven't seen or heard Disfigurement... I would like to rectify that. Are there any recorded jams floating around??
I started typing a list of locals I like and came to the conclusion that I really like all the local bands playing right now who fall into the category of "legit metal"... and I'm generally REALLY picky about the music I like.
There are always going to be false bands floating around but I think we've got a really killer cross section of bands spanning multiple genres right now which isn't something that can be said for most cities/scenes. Black metal, death metal, grindcore, thrash, doom/stoner, psychedelic, and some great punk/crust/hc bands on top of that. Not to mention the fact that (excluding the hc crowd) the fans are all generally the same people. The people that show up to see Spewtilator are the same folks showing up to see Hellgoat or Mangled or Zoroaster. It's a beautiful thing.
SPEWTILATOR - Badass motherfuckin' street cops with nothing to lose who don't play by the rules and are out for blood.

dude spot on! so true man its pretty badass. As far as disfigurement goes, they're pretty close to finishing up in the studio now (I think) and they are playing jacks on Oct. 29th, try to catch them then it should be sick
