@JC- omfg I AGREE all smokers should smoke outside. At one point I inhaled a ton of smoke and it irritated my throat so bad I still can't talk without straining my voice...2 days later! It's fucking gross. Sorry to be a little bitch about it but I totally agree. It's absolutely disgusting...so gross I would NEVER even date a smoker. That's a deal breaker. Thankfully, my b/f feels the same way!
As for stagediving...yeah nearly knocking out the soundboard is pretty bad. A suspended PA is a great idea! it'll take $$ but hopefully The Archive can make it happen! I don't care if people stagedive, just as long as nothing gets knocked over lol

I'm sure I'll just get berated for saying this but screw it. Obituary was way better that week Carcass played. The show was ok, and I was more than honored to play. The four piece part was fine, the PA was ok. I talked to John and Donald Tardy backstage a bit, they were professional enough to be polite but John made a brief comment eluding that he was not super stoked about the accomidations. Lights would have made a huge impact. Anyeway, the show went well, and after all is done it was a good night.

I over heard John complain about the lack of effects for him, but it's what ever.
There were a few things I wasn't happy with but it's not for a public discussion. As for the dives, the band was stoked people were diving for them. Most of the band/crew was stoked about the diy type venue, but I wouldn't book them there again.
Basically, if you don't want to get moshed or jumped on don't be up front. Metal shows used to be extemely wild so don't bitch about people getting wild at shows.
To me the show was awesome but should have been more out of control.

LOL! Cartwheel kicks in the face are real.JMincemoyer wrote: Also, who really enjoys getting kicked in the face or head. I don't, but then again, I'm old.
Also, I have to agree with Amanda as far as cigarette smoke goes. I'm not like super pissed about being around some smoke if there is some ventilation, but when the room is completely grey I start to feel pretty green. It also makes my clothes stink and my hair smell awful. My hair absorbs all of the stink and I have to wash it like 3x/use baking soda and I swear I can still smell smoke. And I'm a total nerd and usually have to use my inhaler when I get home.

i never really say anything about it but nearly suffocate myself trying to avoid breathing it in sometimes. i've got a long list of smoking related deaths caused by heart disease and emphysema all occuring by like age 40 in my moms side of the family. it's a genetic problem for sure but that being said i like to avoid it. i could really care less if people smoke as a personal choice but i can see where the others are coming from. if you're going to hotbox the venue hotbox it with something good!SlashAndThrash wrote:the drum solo happening wasnt the problem, its that it was bad IMO. and bitching about smokers who cares what were you guys raised in a plastic bubble or something?
