GA Tech
I'm considering transferring there, rather than KSU. I know some people here go there, so what do you think of it? Do you like it there? Would you go there if you had to do it again?
Some problems I'm facing are the higher cost, and the difficulties of transferring, since all the classes I've taken up till now transfer to KSU, but only like two transfer to Tech somehow (so I'd probably need to go to KSU anyway just to get enough credits).
I want to go, but I need to carefully consider if it's worth it.

GT was just ranked number one nationally out of all universities, public and private, as the best investment. Ratio of average salary/money earned to tuition paid. So if you like money, it rules.
But yeah I went to Tech for 4.5 years and am currently employed by them, so I'm a big fan. Would do it again.

I can only really speak for the physics and some of the math dept. since I spend all my time there but the real advantage is that there are a lot of interesting research opportunities and a ton of classes offered. Parking is really expensive, $600+ for the school year unless you carpool which is still a lot.

If you do decide to transfer, I need a roommate.

Crap that's a lot. Does the bus/Marta stop nearby?lsaldana wrote:I can only really speak for the physics and some of the math dept. since I spend all my time there but the real advantage is that there are a lot of interesting research opportunities and a ton of classes offered. Well, if I do transfer, it won't be for awhile - for one I have no money at the moment even for KSU, plus it'll take ages to get the credits I need just to apply. Also what'll probably happen is my parents will get a rental house in the area and I'll stay there (and look for roommates).BlackRoija wrote:If you do decide to transfer, I need a roommate.

Well I've got an off-campus rental with a spare room that might not get filled til Fall.

No need to worry about apathetic stoners at Tech.log^Anarchy wrote:Yeah I'm actually considering transferring to Tech as well. I go to school in Vermont right now but there are way too many apathetic stoners and the quality of education is subpar for the price. I may have to take a buffer year at GA state though because I have a 2.5 for the first semester.
The stoners who go there are definitely emotionally invested.

Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!
