What do you mean by urban? Hip hop n commercial radio? No thanks, that shit all sounds the same to me. Not my cup of tea.Brian wrote:I don't think they have a show tonight. The club connected to it does have some party-type thing around 10-11PM but it's more....urban...jools wrote:I'm probably gonna get my arse outta the house tonight n check out the unicorn. What part of town are you set up in? How long are you here.jools wrote:haha az u sic kunt xx. Pat n scream, i'm here right now chillin at my auntys place knockin back a few beverages. I checked out the events section on the site but not too much on there. Keen as mustard to get out of the house though!! Still gettin a few weird looks from the locals, "we don't take kindly to blue haired chicks 'round here" lulz.
Most of ATL proper is pretty laid back about that shit.
For just an average night out to drink and meet some locals hit the Highlander in Midtown, El Myr in Little Five Points or the bar side of 529 (if it's not "urban night"). Pick up a copy of the local freebie paper CREATIVE LOAFING and it will list a lot of what's up in town.

Thanks heaps mate. I believe im in Chamblee or Ashford Park (I think its called). Georgia is pretty cool. Better drivers here than Texas thats for sure! I'll probably be here till sun/mon then im heading down to south beach, miami.badcarburetor wrote:What part of town are you set up in? How long are you here.jools wrote:haha az u sic kunt xx. Your best bet is to hit up Jack's Pizza. Good slices, very cheap drinks, usually a decent crowd.

That's a pretty cool area, but not full of cool "spots." Make sure you hit Buford Hwy for some international eats (there's a thread on here discussing the best spots), as you are right there. The Highlander is easy to get to from Chamblee.jools wrote:Thanks heaps mate. I believe im in Chamblee or Ashford Park (I think its called). Georgia is pretty cool. wow for a second I thought you were my friend posting here. She's flying into Atlanta tomorrow (I forget if she's in the country or not already though) and staying for a week, then we're going up to Baltimore for Maryland Deathfest. This is a stupid question but she seems to know every metalhead there is to know back in Melbourne, Australia. Her name is Helen and she dates one of the dudes in Disembowlment I believe. For all I know, you may not be from Melbourne lol If you do know her, I'd be more than happy bringing her to meet up before you go.
Glad you found this forum and hopefully you'll be able to get to make your way around the places already mentioned. Cheers

Just a heads up. Screeching Weasel and The Queers are playing at Masquerade tonight. Not the greatest punk rock, but it's something to do.
