Take your time and find a used Technics 1200 (doesn't matter which edition) on Craig's List. Haggle the price if needed. If it needs a little TLC take it to BeatLab on Ponce behind the Majestic. That should get you running for around $200 total. If that's too much, do the same thing, just aim for a lesser deck, but try to stick with a direct drive table.

Just don't rush. Check the listings regularly for a few weeks and something will pop up.

Dual I know nothing about.

Good to know about BeatLab! But I haven't had $200 to spend on anything in forever.

That's the table that I have. It actually came down in price by $10. It's belt drive but it is inexpensive and sounds impressive. For the price you will not find a better new table. One of the cool things for those of us who aren't total audiophiles is that theres no adjustments whatsoever. It has a built in preamp that you can turn on/off. It's ready to go right out of the box.

That's more my speed. I just need something that's going to play my LPs. That's it.

You'll probably want to keep that pre-amp on.

Looks good. AT generally makes good stuff for a decent price.

This one's pretty good and easy to use.
