Despite my love for Maiden, I cannot say the same.
Dude. I can't think of a *single* band whose discography I like from top to bottom. For me, it seems like bands usually peak by the second or third album and it is snoozeville after that. Obviously, there are exceptions. Maiden had a really good run, as did Slayer, Darkthrone, etc.

16 fucking albums and you dig every single one? That is really remarkable.

Iron Maiden is so god damn great. I've listened to the self-titled and Powerslave more times than I can count. But they never released something like Painkiller! Also, Defenders of the Faith and Sad Wings!

You say I waste my life away
But I live it to the full
How would you know anyway
You're just mister dull
Why don't you get into the things we do today
You could lose twenty years right away
So we say

We don't need no
No no no
Parental guidance here
We don't need no
No no no
Parental guidance here

Every day you scream at me
To turn the music low
Well if you keep on screaming
You'll make me deaf you know
You always chew me out, because I stay out late
Until your three-piece suit comes back in date
Get one thing straight

We don't need no
No no no
Parental guidance here
We don't need no
No no no
Parental guidance here

There's no communication
I'm tired of explanation
Is this message getting through
You went through the same thing too

Don't you remember what it's like to lose control
Put on my jacket for you get too old
Let's rock and roll

We don't need no
No no no
Parental guidance here
We don't need no
No no no
Parental guidance here
We don't need no
No no no
Parental guidance here
We don't need no
No no no
Parental guidance here

Oh no
One life
And I'm gonna live it up

Maiden never composed embarrassing lyrics---oh wait:

The tough of the track
With the wind
And the rain that's beating down on your back
Your heart's beating loud
And goes on getting louder
And goes on even more 'til the
Sound is ringing in your head
With every step you tread
And every breath you take
Determination
Makes you run, never stop
Got to win, got to run 'til you drop
Keep the pace, hold the race
Your mind is getting clearer
You're over half way there
But the miles they never seem to end
As if you're in a dream
Not getting anywhere
It seems so futile

Run on and on
Run on and on
The loneliness of the long distance runner

I've got to keep running the course
I've got to keep running and win at all costs
I've got to keep going, be strong
Must be so determined and push myself on

Run over stiles across fields
Turn to look at who's on your heels
Way ahead of the field
The line is getting nearer but do
You want the glory that goes
You reach the final stretch
Ideals are just a trace
You feel like throwing the race
It's all so futile

Run on and on
Run on and on
The loneliness of the long distance runner

Wait a minute -- that songs lies outside of their canonical releases.

You should have pointed out "Quest for Fire".

I wouldn't do that b/c I love Quest!

And most people believe Maiden's stronger material begins with Seventh Son.

Seriously, you are going to compare a song inspired by an Alan Sillitoe story to that ridiculous "Mr. Dull" garbage?

I'm just going to find a wall to bang my head on now...

Ah, this is the wrong argument. I'm not here trying to defend poor lyrics in a song from Turbo; I'm here to say Priest has TEN masterworks compared to Maiden's three/four. TEN. TEN FUCKING RECORDS.

You could argue to add Painkiller to that list as well.

I tried to listen to Somewhere in Time this morning. When it was released, I had found Bay Area thrash. So this one didn't effect me the same way Powerslave did and I didn't listen to it much.

It struck me how catchy it is, with a pop sensibility, almost, to the choruses. I didn't hear the guitar synths as prominently, which was a huge deal-killer back then.

Nonetheless, I had this urge to throw on Transilvanian Hunger.
