That line-up gets more varied and strange each year. Let us know how Sweet Home Alabama flies with a eurofest crowd. I at least like how they keep the all of the total shit isolated to one stage. Envious.

bah, they had some soft parts and some clean singing at one point on Hordes of Chaos and it was alright

The fuck are you even talking about, Terrible Certainty is one of their best albums ever and that was '87, up through Coma of Souls which also fucking ruled, shut up

I heard all their stuff online. Infuckingcredbile. Halmos's new work is good too, and I'm still digging Mangled's tracks!

Also, new ACCEPT and KREATOR.

And SUN O))) "BLACK ONE" (which features XASTHUR) and has an Immortal cover.

Skynard played during the day so avoided them and Molly hachet

King Diamond...pretty much killed it even in the rain at 1 a.m. except his voice didn't sound quite as on point as from what i heard of the sweden rock fest though to his credit there were notes from abigail era he nailed which i expected the worse from, so maybe it was his monitor mix

Devil's Blood was prolly the second best act

Necros Christos played well but their set descended into the pitfall of many death metal bands live where the guitars became a wall of distorted mush

Discharge sounded great and the mix at the punk/hardcore stage was prolly the best which sucked because alot of the heavier bands i wanted to see were just loud but otherwise sounded like shit

Death Angel were better than expected but Exodus was boring and too crowded

the refused were decent played so late i needed too hunt down coffee more than i needed to catch their whole set

the girl i went with made us watch Within Temptation...which was unfortunate but i had already set my foot down against Dave Mustaine's bible study so figured if i wanted to get laid on the flight back...they are just like Diet Night-Wish

Heresy! Though, no Danny Joe Brown equals false Hatchet. But Skynyrd is still pretty damned decent.

Those two I really envy your seeing.

well not a big southern rock fan and my punk rock listening can be spotty but discharge was metal enough for me growing up,
as for King I have seen him 6 times and fate twice ...granted the reunion line-ups and being one of my favorites rather than take a they can do no wrong attitude i hold them under more scrutiny

i saw more bands they are kinda a blur but i did also caught, Victims, Taake(who were a little disappointing live but the guitar mix in the black metal tent was shitty throughout)
Moonsorrow,.. was pretty good but expected them to be more epic however their guitar parts were more discernible than most
Oranssi Pazuzu
sacred reich...who have not aged well it looked like a bunch of guys from a truck stop decided to play sacred reich covers... the singers voice however was dead on
Shining-kicked ass even though the singer was wasted , the were the best sounding band in the black metal tent now that i think about it were prolly the second best band after King
St vitus...had higher hopes the sound didn't do them any favors
Enslaved-the sound guy must have gotten drunk after shining because they ruled and enslaved sounded like dog shit and i thought they rocked when i saw them with Dimmu,so disappointing
and like i said yesterday saw the refused because i was so turned off by behemoth's sterile performance at the masq i wanted to skip them

In spite of some of their painful goofiness (31 Flavors, etc...), that's one band that I hate having never caught back when. Now, it would probably still be pretty cool as long as I was properly fucked up and nostalgic.

That's sort of the point, though, with Kvarfoth. As long as he wasn't super smacked out it would seem that he would be in proper performing form.

That I fully get. I just don't understand the big deal with that band. It's just hookless for me. I do look forward to reading Nergal's book, though.
