When my second cousins were 3 and 4 they were flipping through my CD's and saw Strapping Young Lad's Heavy As a Real Heavy Thing which shows a cartoon dude sitting on a toilet. Seeing a cartoon they immediately wanted to hear that one. I put it in and it starts of with what sounds like a giant robot walking a crushing path. They both put their hands to their ears in little kid fashion.Moloc wrote:Death - Symbolic -- "Daddy! I don't want this!"
*sigh*
Dora the Explorer - We Did It (Dora's Greatest Hits)
No Dora allowed in our house either, lately it's been The Muppets movie and Yo Gabba Gabba over and over again. I think I can probably sing every song from the muppets movie word for word.Moloc wrote:Luckily I've become immune to the annoyances of kids' TV and kids' music, probably due to overexposure.stewvee wrote:That little bitch is banned from my tv and car stereo.Moloc wrote:

I've got that on CD, yo.Moloc wrote:Disadvantage of listening to streaming music: you hear an artist you really like on Pandora (Wastelander - "Wardrive") and it doesn't show up in the search results for Rhapsody. Bloody shame.
Yo Gabba Gabba is seriously messed up stuff. I find it a little freaky.Ryan wrote:lately it's been The Muppets movie and Yo Gabba Gabba over and over again.
Like not in a good way.
HA! It's pretty damn bizarre but I just equate it to a modern version of The Banana Splits. DJ Lance is the weirdest part by far.Knucklehead wrote:Yo Gabba Gabba is seriously messed up stuff. When I do get away with playing my music around the kids I'm just glad that bands like Ghoul and Bolt Thrower have indecipherable lyrics.
I was streaming Wacken Open Air through a German tv site and I was so excited to be watching it live that I hooked up the computer to the tv and made the kids watch it. Soon enough the singer from Hammer Fall's stage banter consisted mostly of phrases like, "How are you motherfuckers doing out there?!" I should have tried to mute the sound between songs. Oh well...

Venom -- At War with Satan. Although it was panned by many when released, that title song is a freakin' classic. I grew up in the woods in the north and vividly remember jumping into my car in the winter of '86, steering wheel too cold to handle, popping that cassette into the player and driving into high school.

One of my favorite 20 min songs. Who says you need to be Rush or Yes to write a great long song.

While cleaning the house - Decapitated radio on Pandora
While having lunch - Ministry radio on Pandora
Now - Lots of Bolt Thrower on Rhapsody
I'm thinking of cancelling Rhapsody again--damn thing is so buggy. I cancelled MOG because the radio function sucked. I find myself listening to Pandora more than anything. I think I'll keep that up and when something really turns me on I'll buy it and own it outright. I keep feeling guilty that the artists on Rhapsody, Spotify, etc. aren't getting enough dough.

Idk. Maybe I'll go back to emusic.com

I feel like I'm missing out on stuff that Rhapsody doesn't carry--like that Wastelander track. I can't find that anywhere. It’s hard to believe, but July 14 marked the one-year anniversary of Spotify in the U.S. In August 2011, Century Media became the first metal-centric label to pull its artists from Spotify. The move sparked an unprecedented discourse between MetalSucks and the label (which you can read about here and here). I can’t recall another instance where a label felt compelled to openly duel with the blogosphere. Shortly after Century Media pulled the plug, other notable metal-oriented labels (such as Metal Blade, Prosthetic and Sumerian) followed suit.
Idk. Maybe I'll go back to emusic.com
