More than made up for their MDF performance. This shit ruled. Grave was great, didn't watch Dark Funeral, Morbid Angel destroyed everything in their path.

All this talk of how rad MA was is bumming me out pretty hard right now. It's still that other turd burglar playing drums for them though right?

how was Dark Funeral?
I thought they sounded pretty good, new vocalist and all. Could always do without the theatrics. Didn't play a lot of early stuff. Got to hear Goddess of Sodomy, Hail Murder, and a few other standards.

Ok, well at least I only have to feel bad about missing Grave now.

Morbid Angel was great. You should still feel bad about missing them.

Haha I do... but not having seen them before I would have been kinda bummed seeing them without Sandoval the first time... though I guess there's a chance that opportunity may never present itself.

Dunno... I saw an interview he did talking about that new Terrorizer album and he put off a pretty strong disapproving vibe of where that last MA record went and that he wasn't into it sooooo.... not really sure how that would work going forward.
He's the only relevant part of MA anymore imo. Trey wrote some of the greatest death metal riffs of all time but he's made it pretty clear that he's not into that shit anymore so if all he wants to do going forward is more Illud type shenanigans then I could totally see Sandoval not coming back, or more likely, Trey sticking with someone else who will not only tour and play the classics but play a part in writing more of that techno bs he seems to have a hard on for now.

Doesn't sound like anyone really knows.

In a November 21, 2011 interview with Metal Storm, MORBID ANGEL bassist/vocalist David Vincent was asked if the band's current touring and recording drummer, Tim Yeung, is now a permanent member of the group. "Permanent is an interesting word," Vincent replied. "When we got Tim to do [the latest MORBID ANGEL album, 'Illud Divinum Insanus']  everybody knows what the story is on that  it was to do the record and to do the subsequent touring for the record. So that's what I'm prepared to discuss this evening. Tim is a very capable drummer, a very talented fellow. He's a good friend, and I feel very pleased that his schedule worked out, as such, that he could do this, 'cause we're having a good time."

Haha the interview was for a brazilian blog, and that was definitely the one I was referencing.

His comment is a little goofy, though I think Hordes of Zombies has WAY more to do with "extreme deathgrind" than Illud. What Pete really needs to do is quit on both and start something new with someone who can write some fucking RIFFS. Both bands he's famous for have lost the other key piece to their radness with Pintado's death and Trey's wimping out on death metal, I think it's a shame he's wasting his talent on boring bullshit. The raddest drumming in the world can't save boring riffs/song writing.
