Cryptborn -- In the Grasp of the Starving Dead.

I think I like the second ep better. It might have something to do with the romance of receiving vinyl from across the ocean and listening to it alone in the middle of the night. As opposed to picking something off of Rhapsody during my commute to work.

Very good call. .
Does it sound like Voivod to you?
I've really only listened to early Voivod, but, yeah, there is definitely some of that schizophrenic insanity in there. DK is a bit more subdued, but it's still really out there for hardcore(?) at that time. Again, good call.

King Diamond - Abigail
I wish the early, gnarly MF hadn't been so fucking good. It's always been hard for me to accept KD because of how clean and thick the sound is in comparison.

Mostly I just wish KD sounded more like early, gnarly MF.

King's post-MF ghost stories really beg for a Vegas style production though. I love it and NOT a fan of overdone recording. It just fits in this case.

Inter Arma - Destroyer
http://interarma.bandcamp.com/

This band is so fucking good, black metal parts are used a bit more tactfully throughout rather than just having specific black metal songs like on Sundown. Album comes off as one long song which I love.
