Kay, you need to check this out I think.
Thanks, man. I found two songs. Sound right? I'll check it out on my drive home tonight. I'm the only one in my department at the library all week, so that means I'm on the public desk and lose all that listening time. Sucks.

Good For You - Life Is Too Short to Not Hold a Grudge
Greg Ginn and Mike Vallely's new band.

If OFF! is early BF worship, this is the later, mentally unstable Rollins era of the band. It's pretty fantastic, but it's also a bit comical just how much Mike V is aping Rollins. Still, since I dig the Rollins era shit almost as much as the earlier shit, I'll take it and dig the fuck out of it. GG is straight up insane, out of tune GG. In spite of wanting to, I've never been able to get into any of Mike V's bands.

Vaguely, related, I used to have a DVD called Mike V's Greatest Hits that was nothing but clips of him getting into fights. In one scene he punks, I think, five guys just by harnessing his hot animal machine and make the most of the element of surprise.

Darkthrone -- Underground Resistance. Finally came in the mail the other day. The song "Lesser Men" is pretty damn badass.

I meant to bring up these guys in my last post, as I had them, coincidentally, on the same list I'd jotted down Svartidaudi. Unless I'm not exposed to wide enough of a swath of the online metal community, it's bizarre that I'm hearing so little about Triumvirat. As soon as that first break in the first song came along, with the Hammer Horror church organ keys, I was like, uhh yes please and thank you.

Sounds right, there's only a couple songs up there I think.

I've seen said Mike V fight where he fights 4 or 5 dudes, guy is an animal.

Someone on fb mentioned the Cult, so that made me put on "Love" this morning. Turns out I still really like it even when I'm not drunkenly wrestling it onto the turntable in a fit of nostalgia. So that's new information.

Incidentally, anyone know what language Ian Astbury speaks? I can't pin it down. THX

I checked out that Ranger. All that I could get on Bandcamper was what seems to be a demo called Metal Gear, I think. I thought that was a video game? Maybe it's about video games? It was rough sounding, about the quality that I get in band practice on my "Mikey" iPhone microphone (That thing is a brillian "idea catcher" that doesn't go too deeply in the red no matter how loud you're playing.). Anyway, I definitely dug the style. I hope they hit the studio soon and put out something cleaner sounding. Post up anything else you find.

There is a single well recorded track on their bandcamp that's it's own album called Supreme Evil which is really what you need to listen to.

I was feeling tight, so I waited for it to show on Amazon and got it for $25 with prime shipping. I opened the package this morning and the wrap seems to have been too tight and it warped the sleeve and the record. Gutted! The box it came in was fine, so whoever packed it must have seen that it was fucked up.

Good thing this fucker leaked ages ago.

It's strange how the bandcamper app works so differently from the online site. I can't get that track to work on the app. I'll make a note to check it out online sometime soon. Thanks.

I'd send it back and complain. That shit ain't right.

CM Distro is currently out of stock, but selling it for $18.75. Add a couple of bucks for shipping and you'll still be ahead. Wish I'd known about that when I was ordering.

Sam and I have had this discussion before, but when remember when records were $7.95? Guh.
