When I was in 7th grade a couple of my older friends went to see Suicidal at the Metroplex. I was bummed that I couldn't go, but I guess I could see the wisdom in my mom not letting her 12 year old son got to a punk club in one of the shittiest parts of town imaginable.masquerade wrote:Liers In Wait will be playing post-show in Purgatory and we brought in the Metroplex folks to make it a 30th Anniversary party since both ST and DRI originally played there many, many moons ago. Should be great.

Such a great show. DRI was good, not as good as the last few times but still good.
ST was so good. Their mix was whatever but I didnt care. So many dives. They fucked pledge your allegiance, which sucked but still a great show. Set was perfect, all classic songs except for one new one, which was embarrassingly bad.

When DRI came in 2011, my vest got ripped at the seam on the right side, lost a few buttons, and my bullet belt was beginning to fall off. Fortunately SadRit opened for them so I had their merch friend at the table to hold on to them.Moloc wrote:What happened back in 2011?JägerWolf wrote:After my experience with DRI back in 2011, Im gonna leave my vest and bulletbelt at home.
And just as I predicted, DRI and SuiTend was apeshit crazy. Of course, I caught more air when DRI played. I lost my phone through out the show, fortunately it was found later when it was all over.
SuiTend was awesome, but DRI kicked ass once again.

The new song was actually well timed in the set. Perfect spot for a bathroom break.
Also, glad you found your phone JagerWolf!

The first band was ST's old guitarist's new band, or a rebirth of No Mercy with a different name, I think. They weren't bad, but the drummer screwed up a couple of times and Mike looks like he's been spending a lot of time at In & Out Burger.badcarburetor wrote:What a killer old punk rock weekend. Dwarves on Friday, this on Saturday. Both shows were packed and tons of fun. I loved DRI's set, but I missed a little of it at the begining.
Anyone catch the first band?

Damn. I wish I had caught that.zla vydra wrote:The first band was ST's old guitarist's new band, or a rebirth of No Mercy with a different name...
He's defo a big boy, but for most of the set he had a ton of energy. He did start lagging in the last third when it turned into "S..T..." and "Cyco this, that and the other."zla vydra wrote:[Mike looks like he's been spending a lot of time at In & Out Burger.
Still a great set, night and weekend.

I wish I could have caught them. I dug the hell out of the Controlled by Hatred... EP which was mostly comprised of re-worked No Mercy songs.zla vydra wrote:
