Their best efforts were most defintely around that album. Eskhata is by far my favorite. Eternal Winter's Prophecy, Chaosborn, and Winteright Tradgedies are all great. Location: COLD was such a disappointment though that I really haven't given a listen to any newer material since.GameFreac wrote:One of my favorite albums ever.MS_39455 wrote: Catamenia - Winternight Tradgedies

Winternight Tragedies is my favorite, followed by Chaosborn. Morning Crimson is great too. All the older ones are solid. Location: COLD grew on me but some songs were really bad. After both good singers left, the guitarist sang on VIII: The Time Unchained. It grew on me too but it took awhile.
Cavalcade was terrible and their new singer isn't great. The clean vocals sound absolutely horrible and Riku is the only original member left now.
I really wanted to see them live but now I wish they would just break up.

Really cool Hard n Heavy documentary focusing on Earache bands, long and rambling interviews (the best kind), lots of vids. It's entitled "Grindcore" but whoever titled it is a boob. Here are the videos/performances:
01. Napalm Death - If The Truth Be Known/Suffer The Children
02. Morbid Angel - Immortal Rites
03. Nocturnus - Lake of Fire
04. Paradise Lost - Dead Emotion
05. Prophecy of Doom - Rage Against Time
06. Godflesh - Christ Bait Rising
07. Cerebral Fix - Unity For Who/Enter The Turmoil
08. Sonic Violence - Manic
09. Bolt Thrower - Cenotaph
10. Vengeance Rising - Before The Time
11. Entombed - Left Hand Path
12. Carcass - Reek of Putrefaction

I can't remember if I found this on my own or was linked to it from a forum so I'll feel dumb if I in fact got it from here.
Also Sonic Reign's Monument in Black, an album almost a year old at this point but which snuck into my heavy listening rotation right at the end of 2013 and continues strong into the new year. It nicely takes the place of every Satyricon album post-Volcano, even if it's pretty much plagiarism. Seriously the first 20 seconds of this song are almost identical to both "Fuel for Hatred" and "Possessed." I excuse the theft by figuring that if Satyr isn't putting this sound to good use, someone should.
