So, anybody know if there's gonna be as-of-yet-unnamed openers, or is Reich gonna go on at 7:30 or 8?

Saw them last night with no opener and about 300 in attendance.
Never thought I would ever/ever want to see Queensrÿche again, but they played semi-locally last night so my neighbor and I decided to check 'em out (he actually had just seen them on this same tour a few months ago).
I'd seen them 4 times previously (Rage for Order tour and Empire tour-- awesome; 2000-- crappy; 2005-- actually decent). The only post-Empire album I bought was Operation:Mindcrime II, which I thought sucked, and the snippets I've heard from Promised Land through the latest LaTorre offering have done nothing for me, and the Tate drama/split/later albums did nothing to interest me in the once mighty band.
I've got to say that last night's 16 song set (1 song from EP, 1 from The Warning, 2 from Rage, 3 from Mindcrime, 4 from Empire, 1 from Promised Land, and 4 from the last 2 LaTorre albums) did nothing to re-endear them to me, despite the "early"-heavy set. The musicianship was tight, LaTorre can hit the notes/screams/mimic Tate about perfectly, but when Screaming in Digital, Eyes of a Stranger, or Queen of the Reich don't bring goosebumps, the modern incarnation of the band and the past 20-25 years of sub-mediocrity remain a non-entity (to me).
Listened to the EP and Rage on the way home-- yep, still great. The current incarnation? Insignificant.

yeah. got there seven minutes before queensryche started, ran into the pat-down guys at the door, had to go back to my car to put my knife away, got back to the venue two minutes before the qr set, they didn't even pat me down, watched qr, and then left right after they finished. ran into moloch coming out of prong downstairs and then we almost got run over by a speeder on north avenueratanda wrote:Were you there?melkor wrote:since i forgot to suspend my jukely account i will be going
