Got my Hell's Heroes as well.
And I just learned about the crazy Furnace Fest reboot. That's a scene I haven't spent any time with since then essentially, but the original two were so much fucking fun. Seriously considering that one, too.

It was great to see Mercyful Fate & Emperor! Overall the fest felt weird, and the sound overall was meh in each of the venues (some times it got dialed in, magically). Also, none of the venues had a very venuey feel to them? One was set up in a conference room--another in a food court...
Edit: oh, and that "pool stage"? Went once, decided to not bother for the rest of the fest.

Looks pretty good, but it seems to be at a 37 Main type venue far out in the suburbs.
I have a plane ticket to Houston for Hell's Heroes, but I can't decide if I want to pay $150 to see the 4 bands I want to see, especially when I saw two of them before they were middle-aged.

Wish Metal Threat was IN Chicago. Being 30-40 minutes out of the city makes it less appealing to me. I'm sure it helps Pauls expenses having it in a strip mall looking joint though!
