If you are interested in black metal or thrash at all, "Morbid Tales" and "To MegaTherion" are mandatory purchases. They are old school, obviously, but they have well stood the test of time, IMHO.

Interestingly, Warrior had talked to Ain back in April about bringing Reed St. Mark back to the fold, to cure their drumming problems. If St. Mark was unable to, he was going to ask Frost or Nick Barker to sit in on their lives shows until they could get things sorted. Apparently, Ain deferred the decision, which led to the break-up.

Celtic Frost were and are an important part of my appreciation of metal. It still sucks that they split.

"CELTIC FROST singer and guitarist Tom Gabriel Fischer has left CELTIC FROST due to the irresolvable, severe erosion of the personal basis so urgently required to collaborate within a band so unique, volatile, and ambitious."
I have to say, this is the most eloquently Metal band dissolution statement I've ever heard.

Still sucks, but I'm not nearly as dissapointed by this as I was when I bought Vanity Nemesis.
Let the joyous celebrations of Hell begin!

Heehee. I never have heard anything from that album. I wouldn't call it, or its immediate predecessor, canonical Celtic Frost.

Circle of the Tyrants! Ugh!

I recently sent Tom the video I took in '06, and he told me that Martin had appropriated all of their other video from the tours as well as a lot of other stuff - sounds like an ugly divorce to me heh. But then I guess any band breakup is kind of like a divorce, right?

They are a good band, but Celtic Frost is done and should stay that way. If they stayed together they would each release would get worse and worse so its good they arent going to release anything else.
